The Grass Really Is Greener…. “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” – Tommy Lasorda This Work Was Featured In Live, Love, Dream / (Thanks Bamgirl) Winner of the Today’s Best award, June 24th, 2008, at Zazzle / This is a new collaboration work I created inspired by a photo from one of my good friends Paul Hobday better known as Hobbers. I was inspired to create this piece from his work Twisted It really caught my eye…and my mind wandered to perhaps how the fence really became twisted. ;D / I really enjoy Paul’s photography as I’m sure you will too, please take a look at his wonderful portfolio. Although nature photography is probably my favorite sometimes I see ordinary objects sitting in a particular way and have to take a picture. Rarely do I move objects to compose a picture because I think things in the world are amazing just the way they are- you just have to look at them the right way. I was laying on my family’s old dock at our lake place in the sun and looked over at my flip flops and had to run back to the beach to get my camera for a picture :) I did take what color there was in the dock out in photoshop to focus the eye more on the old blue flip flops. /

What the hell is going on (and other uplifting stories)...

Ok, ok first of all, everyone breath. Cool. Now let’s check. Melbourne experiencing four seasons in one day? Check. Shane Warne caught out again? Check. Running my own business continuing to be challenging? Check. Darren Stones steering the good ship RB around icebergs with a confident if not somewhat alcohol induced flourish? Check. Some people on some distant journal thread arguing about freedom of speech as if RB is the most vital instrument for world peace on earth. Whilst slandering, vilifying and taunting each other with racial, overworked cliches from behind psuedo names? Check. So nothing new or unusual about today then? Un check. What the… Check this… Today in seperate orders people have bought… 1 canvas print of shoe woman plus 20 cards of shoe woman 150 cards of mother & child 25 cards of Possibility II 25 cards of the congo skipping kids & a further 26 of these 20 cards of this beauty 5 cards of these guys 5 cards of these little ones 2 cards of this chap 2 cards of this dude 2 cards of this princess 5 cards of this piece of possibility and 2 cards of this beautiful, precious boy I don’t know anything much about freedom of speech, flags, philosophy or anything like the stuff that’s been going on here this week. But I’ll tell you all ONE VERY IMPORTANT THING. These purchases will save lives. These people live on less than a dollar a day. They live in slums, gutters and sheds made of flattened alluminium cans. The love, they laugh, they dream – they dodge bullets, they run as fast as they can from rapists usually unsuccessfully, they starve and they cry. Every cent of revenue goes to them and the brave souls who live in a war zone to help them. They couldn’t give a rats about flags, and virtual slanging matches. They live on the real edge. I didn’t cry once in Africa. Right now I am sitting here drowning in tears. Maybe change is possible? Even the tiniest bit?? Thanks RB – thanks whoever. EDIT: SEEMS LIKE A GOOD TIME TO DEBUT THIS FELLA. Oh and thinking of turning some of these into Chrissy cards if anyone’s interested.

Your breath comes in gasps as you rush away from the crooked mansion and its gold-mad inhabitants. I just need a breath of fresh air to clear my head you think. Feeling trapped by the surrounding gloomy swamp you look back at the manor and it seems to glow evilly in the stormy night… you catch a ghostly glimpse of Rudy Styne- but how could that be? You just ran outside after seeing your best friend Lillian stuffing his dead body into a shadowy closet! You squeeze your eyes shut, shudder, and shake your head- when you look again he is gone… For a murder mystery Boredom Competition and adding a little more diversity to my work- have to keep people on their toes :) Created from 3 exposures of the building on a clear blue day and one of the tree and moon, took forever in photoshop :) See the second image (unless you’re not a fan of violence) The Butcher and the third and final part of the story Empty /

This T-shirt is one that I designed years ago. It’s inspired by The Smiths song “Half a Person”. Originally it contained the song text but I could not publish it that way. That would be a flagrant violation of copyright. So I wrote my own words to go into the text half. / Nothing more to say really, except, I hope you like it. / Cheers. This design is also available as a card or as wall art: / Also available is a variation on this tee called / Half a Computer

So many of you reacted so positively to my shot of the gate of the country-house Gooilust at ´s-Graveland. Many, many thanks for it. / Here another shot from the grounds of the country-house, some time later on the same morning, but still in that mysterious misty-morning atmosphere. ´s-Graveland, 7th June, 6.34 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 70 mm / F 10, 1/25, ISO 800

This shot was a junk shot I had already created in HDR, that I was going to toss. There were major issues w/ it, such as large white spot in the corner, blurred spots, etc. But I loved the look of the tree. So I played with it a bit, liked what I came up w/ (which was what you see, minus the girl) but thought something was missing. I added the girl and well, here’s what we got! / I really like the dark ambiance and lost feeling of the piece. I thought it would be nice to show the original shot I was gonna trash. Personally, I like seeing before and afters of photo manips, helps give a sence of what they actually go through to accomplish the final piece. / This piece was featured in and won Out of the Past Group’s May contest, “Ghosts of the Past.” Thank You!!!!! “
