This is an amazing fountain in Vegeland Park, Oslo. A large bowl borne aloft by statues of men, set in a park filled with metal and granite statues of humanity at work, at play, in love, in conflict. An incredible place. But as for the fountain itself, I think it must be something about the shape of the bowl or the flow of the water that results in this incredible, almost smokey effect on the falling water.

The Royal Palace was built in the first half of the 19th century as the Norwegian residence of Norwegian and Swedish king Charles III. It is now used as the official residence of the present Norwegian Monarch King Harald V. The palace was designed by the Danish-born architect Hans Ditlev Franciscus Linstow (1787-1851). The project was initiated in the Norwegian parliament in 1821, the foundation stone was laid down by the king in 1825, and the building was completed in 1849, during the reign of Oscar I.
Oslo, summer 2008 Stormtroopers in 25C+ temperatures have really tough life. But these guys had a blast running around Oslo. They were stopped literally by everyone, either wanting a photo or asking whats going on. I didn’t ask, just grabbed a photo while they still weren’t bored posing. Other from this series: /
