Lust is the seventh of the Seven Deadly Sins. The punishment for Lust is to be smothered in fire and brimstone.

The first form of perfume was incense. Incense was first discovered by the Mesopotamians about 4,000 years ago. Ancient cultures burned many kinds of resins, bums and woods at their religious ceremonies. They often soaked the fragrant woods and resins in water and oil, and rubbed their bodies with the liquid. They also embalmed the dead with these perfumes.> Early Europeans used many different containers to store their perfumes.> They used glass, gold, silver, porcelain, gems, pearls, semi-precious stones and various shells. Perfume was commonly used in the form of incense.> Some incense burners consisted of a container held from chains. It was swung like a pendulum during Mass in the Christian Church. There were also stationary incense burners used in Churches.> Some perfume containers were designed to be worn. Semi-precious stones held perfumes and were pinned to clothing. Silver earrings were worn that contained perfume soaked fabric inside them.> Many containers were designed to be hung around the neck, from a belt, or from a finger ring.> Perfume bottles were always handcrafted and designed by artists, jewelers and goldsmiths. Many bottles were designed to be worn, or displayed on a table.> Nefertiti, an Egyptian beauty from an earlier dynasty, surrounded herself with perfume: containers with myrrh, flacons filled with sweet oils, and handsomely ornamented jars of unguents.> Things have certainly changed in our world of perfume bottles since this time in history wouldn’t you agree ladies.. far less decadence …
Simply everything about this shot impresses me with how ornate it is, the ceiling, the chandelier, the granite and marble stairs, the windows and the arches, its all just amazing. Seldom is it that you find stuff like this in a derelict that has not been stolen or broken, a truly wonderful find.
The raindrops do their morning dance on the web expertly attached to the square section of fence….There’s nothing ‘square’ about the designer of this ornate diamonte with the sun metamorphosising the droplets into diamonds on the spot!

This female Ornate cowfish (Arcana ornate) was lovely enough to pose front on for me on a recent dive under Flinder’s pier. She was eye balling me. It was just like she was waiting for the right moment to land a big kiss right on the front of my lens . The white striped markings across her face are my favorite aspect to this image.
/ CLICK THIS IMAGE TO READ MORE ABOUT IT! BONUS COLLAGE! What you see here is one of several works of art to be posted over the next seven days – the results of a seven day smackdown between myself, and the fabulous Angi Sullins and Silas Toball – where Angi made a traditional collage, and then gave it to Silas and I, letting us loose on it with our photoshop skills. :) For this one – I was really draw to one element in particular, in the original collage. Some orange detailing that made me think of goldfish, or koi. I couldn’t get the image out of my head… no matter that the whole focus of the original collage was BUNNIES! LOL So, instead of following the white rabbit, and dove into the lily pond with the fishies. Here is the original collage: (TO BE POSTED MOMENTARILY)
Rio 2009 – as featured in Issue 57 of Advanced Photoshop Magazine! I went head to head with another artist, after being given the same basic model shot to work with. This was the outcome for me! You can see both of our work in this issue, along with a simplified tutorial on how I achieved this look. The reason this is called “Rio 2009” – is because of my original inspiration. Remember that classic 80’s album by Duran Duran called Rio, with the fantastic Patrick Nagel artwork on the cover? The raven haired beauty with the ‘cherry ice cream smile’ – who looked exotic and edgy, with that supermodel gleam? Well I wanted to update that picture with a fresh approach. No longer trapped in the graphic art lines of Nagel, Rio has broken free, and is a bit more exotic and fierce now that it is 2009! I love blending cultural styles and colors, and this piece was a real treat to work because of that!
Pink Floyd’s Time-Listen Here Time lyrics Ticking away the moments that make up a dull day / You fritter and waste the hours in an off-hand way / Kicking around on a piece of ground in your home town / Waiting for someone or something to show you the way / Tired of lying in the sunshine staying home to watch the rain / You are young and life is long and there is time to kill today / And then the one day you find ten years have got behind you / No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun / And you run and you run to catch up with the sun, but it’s sinking / And racing around to come up behind you again / The sun is the same in the relative way, but you’re older / And shorter of breath and one day closer to death / Every year is getting shorter, never seem to find the time / Plans that either come to naught or half a page of scribbled lines / Hanging on in quiet desparation is the English way / The time is gone the song is over, thought I’d something more to say Home, home again / I like to be here when I can / When I come home cold and tired / It’s good to warm my bones beside the fire / Far away, across the field, tolling on the iron bell / Calls the faithful to their knees / And hear the softly spoken magic spell Made in Sterling and the clocks face added in P.S. This is a close replica to a true Antique French Mantle Clock~

I’ve been trying to get a good shot of one of these little beauties for ages, quite a task with a compact camera let me tell you. Anyhow on this dive I was determined and all my stalking and patience paid off when this fellow became accustomed to my presence somewhat instead of just bolting. / Aracana ornata , male.
