These images were taken merely ten minutes ago, as i was outside barbquing dinner. A you can see in the one shot he is on the same white table that he was on in the image Peanut Thief. These are the original images They have not been altered in any fashion. This guy comes and visits us twice daily. He will often sit up on the wire you can see in the one photo and call to us asking for his peanuts. He will then sit and wait until we set them out and move about a foot away and then will swoop in and land on the table with us watching and take his pick of peanuts. This first shot show’s him sitting in the tree watching me and appraising the peanuts / This second shot shows him on the white table ( same table and same bird as in Peanut Thief This next shot shows him in flight just leaving the table and heading for the fir tree that sits near the table. This last shot shows him taking off from the wire, heading out to his nest after hiding his latest peanut This is the same bird as in peanut Thief. Well now that was an amazing discovery! Mr. Sass had come to his usual spot and asked for his peanuts. SO missy and I went out and watched. Within a few minutes we noticed another blue jay less brightly colored in the fur tree. I at first thought it was another male, but then we heard the chirping of baby blue jays. So we have been blessed with an entire family of Stellar Blue jays. Mr. Sass, Mrs. Sass and their babies. We weren’t permitted to see the babies today but I assume with the next week we will start seeing the babies. I will post pics of the babies and mamma as soon as I capture them :) What a wonderful blessing

I discovered this morning that Mr. Sass has produced a second nest this year. The first nest consisted of sass junior , Sass the second, and of course Mr. Sass and Mrs. Sass. The Second nest only contains one baby that I’ve seen so far. This new addition is still begging for food and having a slight difficulty flying. Mr. Sass allowed me to stand near the table where they are fed there peanuts and photography himself and his new baby. So as of today we now have five stellar blue jays visiting our backyard two or three times a day. These visits range from as early as 5 am to as late as 9 pm.
