This painting is of the view I saw walking through the portico of the convent building adjoining the San Felipe de Neri church. The cactus was not in bloom at the time, so I added those in for more color. This is located in Old Town, Albuquerque, New Mexico. All proceeds from this work are to be donated to the Philadelphia Mission to feed, clothe, and provide medicine and education to the starving children in Africa. It’s Winter in Australia, which means the Wattle is beginning to bloom. In my area we’ll soon be surrounded by a sea of bouncing little balls of yellow…... Did you know : / - Wattle is Australia’s official floral emblem, having adorned our Coat Of Arms since 1912. / - there are around 950 different species of Wattle….. which is why I have no clue as to which one this is! / - On 1 September 1910 the Sydney Morning Herald stated: / “To many Australians the wattle stands for home, country, kindred, sunshine and love; every instinct that the heart most deeply enshrines.”........ nice :) [canon 1000D, canon scanner for texture, PS watercolour] WINNER – Wattle challenge – October 2009

Not sure if I’ll sell this one yet. / view my current eBay listings This one really took a lot out of me and came perilously close to being slashed with a stanley knife last week. Not surprisingly, the face which has finally emerged looks less than happy…..although there is a hint of a wry smile.
