Original acrylic on canvas (22 in. x 28 in.) I did based on Anton Corbijn’s original Miles Davis black & white portrait. Anton’s work has played a MAJOR influence in my art & photography. He has worked extensively with musicians Depeche Mode & U2 capturing stunning images of these minstrels spanning decades, not the least of which is creating their live stage show videography. Acrylic on 6×9 Painting Board I have never painted before. I mean, of course I did stuff when I was a kid, but I haven’t picked up a brush since. I’m so happy with this piece. It sort of signifies my acceptance with what is to come. Today was the worst day of my art career. I pretty much had the biggest breakdown since I started. But this peice helped me through as did so many of you wonderful members. You guys truely are gems. At some point tonight I’m gonna thank each one that responded to my journals individually. Art = Blood, Sweat and tears it seems. And thanks to you guys and your words I feel as if I’m up for the challenge. So enjoy this. Starlight.

I look up at the darkened sky / Of night after the days gone by / And glowing face does catch my eye / He watches me from place so high / / Man in the Moon from myth and lore / Looks down on earth, as has before / While working on his ceaseless chore / Of moving seas, to and from shore / / Few days a month he does appear / On schedule that he must adhere / To show his face from glowing sphere / And light the night when skies are clear / / This fractal artwork was inspired by the many different myths about the Man in the Moon from many different cultures throughout many different eras of human history. I still feel the same awe and mysticism when looking up at the full moon as I did as a young child, and can greatly understand and appreciate just how the Man in the Moon has inspired such stories over the ages. The ancients now return to Earth / From home so far away / Observe the work that they gave birth / See what it is today / / The seed they left so long ago / Planted in ancient seas / Has had millenniums to grow / Become the Earth’s trustees / / Experiment success or not / The ancients decide now / Are we the outcome that they sought / Or have they come to plow / / So humble in our arrogance / Of things we do not know / Is all Earth’s life just happenstance? / Or life ancients bestow? / / This artwork was inspired by a current scientific hypothesis that our genetic material may have arrived on earth from space, hitch-hiking on a meteorite or comet. This artwork portrays that hypothesis, but instead the genetic material was actually brought to earth by an advanced civilization as an experiment. In the artwork, these beings return to observe the outcome of their experiment. The city-sized, alien ships both reflect and conduct existing natural light to cloak themselves from discovery. / / I just love sci-fi!... or is it sci-fi?? / / The original is 6000×4800 pixels at 300 pixels per inch. This was programmed and rendered by me from scratch in POV-Ray. This artwork is exactly as rendered without any post-processing. I never do spacey things.. but I so enjoyed this piece. Then i talked with Bil and he mentioned me and Shoaib in the same sentence so I knew it was time to give my Brotha his due. / . / I am so pleased you are in my life Shoaib, as you remind me sometimes how GOOD LIFE KEEPS GETTING. you are an expanded part of our evolution.
