  • This for you Terez , my lovely daughter , she died when she was nearly 15 …… Thank you my friends your comments and support mean a lot to me. I had this pain bottled up in me so so long… but I knew and hoped with time passing things will change and turn out good… I was right, things started to unfold last week and I could just see and feel it. Working with this wonderful model just inspired me and brought all those feelings up from my heart, bones and my most inner part. I loved every minutes of it and it gave me a wonderful peace of mind Original oil painting on canvas, 100cmX100cm

  • One could imagine the book, venerable as it is, just vanishing into the ether. / It melts into all the other information species searchable through Google’s most / democratic of engines: the web pages, the blogs, the orlglns of printed and broadcast news, / the general chatter. (Thanks for everything, Gutenberg, and now goodbye) / Now at this point one expects to hear a certain type of sentimental plea for the / old-fashioned book-how you like the feel of the thing resting in your hand, the smell / of the pages the faint cracking of the spine when you open a new book-and one may / envision an aesthete who bakes his own bread and also professes to prefer the / sound of vinyl. That’s not my argument. I do love the heft of a book in my hand, but I / spend most of my waking hours looking at-which mainly means reading from-a computer / screen. I’m just saying that the book is technology that works. / For some kinds of books, the writing is on the wall. Encycolpedias are finished. / All encyclopedias combined, including redoubtable Britannnica, have already been itself in cyberspace. / where it has doubled in size and grown more timely and usable than ever. And those hefty / objects called “telephone books”? As antquated as typewriters. The book has had a life / as the world’pre-eminent device for the storage and retrieval of knowledge, but may be ending, / where the physical object is concerned. Excerpts from: How to Publish Without Perishing by James Gleick, The New York Times. / / Took lots of photos of books in different positions, used filters / created a background from scratch, added gradient and blends / drew the fire and drew the lightning, blurred and opacity change / photo of hands inserted, face inserted, tower inserted, birds inserted

  • ‘Cryptic Question’ It’s not / ...how?... / ...when?... / ...where?... / ...who?... / ...what?... The cryptic question / is / simply “why?” SBricker 2009 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Question – The Moody Blues at Royal Albert Hall, 2008 (written by Justin Hayward) Why do we never get an answer / When we’re knocking at the door / With a thousand million questions / About hate and death and war? / ‘Cos when we stop and look around us, / There is nothing that we need, / In a world of persecution / That is burning in its greed. Why do we never get an answer / When we’re knocking at the door / Because the truth is hard to swallow / That’s what the war of love is for It’s not the way that you say it / When you do those things to me / It’s more the way that you mean it / When you tell me what will be And when you stop and think about it / You won’t believe it’s true / That all the love you’ve been giving / Has all been meant for you. I’m looking for someone to change my life, / I’m looking for a miracle in my life / And if you could see what it’s done to me, / To lose the love I knew / Could safely lead me through. Between the silence of the mountains, / And the crashing of the sea, / There lies a land I once lived in, / And she’s waiting there for me, / But in the grey of the morning, / My mind becomes confused, / Between the dead and the sleeping, / And the road that I must choose. I’m looking for someone to change my life, / I’m looking for a miracle in my life / And if you could see what it’s done to me, / To lose the love I knew, / Could safely lead me to / The land that I once knew, / To learn as we grow old / The secrets of our soul. It’s not the way that you say it / When you do those things to me / It’s more the way you really mean it / When you tell me what will be Why do we never get an answer / When we’re knocking at the door / With a thousand million questions / About hate and death and war? / ‘Cos when we stop and look around us, / There is nothing that we need, / In a world of persecution / That is burning in its greed. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ / ”...And if you could see what it’s done to me, / To lose the love I knew, / Could safely lead me to / The land that I once knew, / To learn as we grow old / The secrets of our soul…..” / ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Apophysis 2.08 – 7200×9000px thanks for the look, my friends! • © C J Lewis. Oils on stretched canvas 3‘x 4’. BEST VIEWED LARGE JULY 2009 FEATURED IN Core group / MCN:CADB7-BB617-D4A81 Below is the section of a photograph of a tree trunk that I looked into and which gave me the inspiration to paint this art. The word Christ in Eastern terminology means the enlightened one, a vehicle of enlightenment it was not actually a part of the name of the man, that was called Jesus Christ. He was called Jesus Christ as he was Jesus, the man, who was enlightened and as such understood the energies, and therefore the process of life, in this world which is what sayings such as: “As you sow so shall you reap” and “As you give so shall you receive” and other such explanations referred to…the physics of the energies of this world. Enlightened, enlightenment basically means the understanding, the conscious awareness, of just being and living from the higher sense of the knowledge of self, the Higher Spirit which is directly linked to the Soul, the divine God essence of All, that is above the egocentric mind-set which creates animosities when emotions run high and reactions occur to the action of not thinking what is going through one’s mind…reacting in anger to a situation that has made you feel wronged or whatever instead of seeing the emotion for what it is…a bad feeling that urges one to create a drama in one’s life. Such unconscious awareness is a form of mental dysfunction (mental illness) and causes reactions such as segregation, wars, killing, jealousies, envies etc and pits nation against nation. It’s also the cause of the many problems, both past and present, that creates suffering. I have shown my depiction of the Christ lounging back and having a discussion with Mohammed, his brother in spirit and the other beings that are aware of the function of the energies who are ‘awake’. In the background there are faces behind a curtain of darkness that depicts they are close to awakening. The eagle represents an all seeing animal that transcends dimensions hence the white orb around it’s head like that of the main character being a representation of enlightenment. Some people who allow themselves to go through the door of death and travel in spiritual realms during rest can travel in the form of an eagle and take back the memory of what they witnessed during that journey of being a part of nature. This I believe is what the Ancient Egyptians were referring to in their hieroglyphics of human’s with eagle heads – they were, and are, usually high priests/priestesses of spiritual knowledge. The young girl at the feet of the main character represents one who sits at the feet of Christ, her mentor, and spiritual brother. The yin/yang sign depicts the balance of energies that is needed in the world of physicality for the energies to function with equilibrium within the Universal molecular structure. © C J Lewis, Sydney, 2008.
