In my most recent series: ‘Face Navigation’ , I have used the fluidity of watercolour painting to express a personal perception of self and others. There is an awareness of the universal human condition through facial expression, and in some cases I create a progression of images, exploring the changing perception of a person by deconstructing facial recognition. As there is a shift over time in attitude or mood, there is a corresponding shift in visual interpretation. Sizes variable, average sizes 250×102 mm. Watercolour on rag paper. / / Web: www.littlemalopgallery.com.au For availability of original work please contact Robert Avitabile at: METROPOLIS GALLERY / 64 Ryrie Street / Geelong, Victoria, AUSTRALIA 3220 Telephone: +61 3 5221 6505 www.metropolisgallery.com.au
This is an original acrylic painting. / Painted on gallery wrapped canvas and is 16”x 20” in over all size unframed. I spray all of my paintings with a final protective professional varnish. This in one of the paintings from my “Native American Woman Series”. Part of my childhood was spent growing up near the Rosebud Reservation north of Valentine, Nebraska. “Wrapped In Tradition” is an original and signed oil and acrylic painting. / Painted on gallery wrapped canvas. “Wrapped In Tradition” is another addition to my “Native American Woman Series”. Growing up near the Rosebud Reservation north of Valentine, Nebraska, made a great impression on me as a child. Now as an adult and an artist, I am able to revive my memories and include my artistic creative process in representing this culture. My studio is located in Mesquite, Nevada where I create my art, work on commissioned pieces and teach private students. / Thank you for viewing my art. View susan’sgallery / View susan’szazzle / /

Out of all my drawings I keep looking at this one and thinking “how on earth did I do that?!!” and although I drew it back in August its still my favourite drawing. =) I have not altered it in any way (no photoshop etc) I used Derwent graphite pencils and drew it on smooth White card approximately 18” x 13”

I needed to do something completely from my imagination. And of course I can’t call it Blackbird without linking to the song!

I recently treated myself to a set of Ashleys Photoshop Actions & I have to say that it’s the best money I’ve spent in a long time! / True, these Actions are all things I frequently try to do myself when doing a portrait, but using them has halved my workflow. / Perhaps I should learn to do my own actions…. / I’ve had a lot of fun playing with them this afternoon…... 18×24 acrylic on canvas I painted this one for The Divine Feminine’s challenge “Loving Ladies”. This is my favorite goddess of Love, Lakshmi. This is not your traditional painting of Lakshmi, for instance, I didn’t give her 4 arms. But I think it captures her beauty and femininity. Lakshmi is also the goddess of beauty and wealth. She is kind of like the goddess of the law of attraction. In truth, Lakshmi teaches us to accept our beauty and to find true happiness in the realization of the abundance of our soul. 9×12 pastel on Sennelier La Carte paper FEATURED IN “MYTHS. LEGENDS, AND FAIRYTALES”, “INSPIRED ART”, “THE DIVINE FEMININE”, AND “DREAM AND FANTASY ART” GROUPS. This is my entry into the Jessica Walker challenge in Bubbler Portraits. I used Jessica’s self portrait Ice Queen as a reference. / When I saw Jessica’s portrait I thought of the White Witch in Narnia. I wanted to do this as a big acrylic painting, but got anxious to do it….and so it’s pastel. Maybe I will paint it someday. Laminated Print / Medium sized framed print /
