  • An original painting, the first from a series of paintings in acrylics/mixed media which has photographic qualities (but it is a painting none the less). Inspired by a surreal May evening at Hove beach where the sea and sky blended into one – there was no horizon, and the sea turned to mercury.

  • I love the Willow Pattern….. I have fond memories of finding hundreds of broken willow pattern shards buried in the dirt near my home as a young child. It was the site of an old homestead that burnt to the ground many years before my time. / I’d spend hours digging in the dirt thinking I’d found some exotic treasure…..... “Two birds flying high, / A Chinese vessel, sailing by. / A bridge with three men, sometimes four, / A willow tree, hanging o’er. / A Chinese temple, there it stands, / Built upon the river sands. / An apple tree, with apples on, / A crooked fence to end my song.” / by Mary L. Stollard The Willow Pattern was designed by Thomas Minton around 1790, & has remained popular ever since. [canon 1000D, bamboo from sxc.hu] Featured – Nostalgic Art & Photography – June 2009 /

  • Australian Estuarine Crocodiles “Salties”.... truly fearsome creatures to me. / I spent 2 years living in Darwin convinced that my Husband would be eaten by one…. he likes to fish from the riverbank…... luckily he saw the sense in not doing this while we lived there. These crocs were in captivity so I was quite safe….. but some people insist on putting themselves in danger with crocs in the wild. • Whenever I do a Self Portrait, I usually try to say something about myself. I try to reveal a little of who I am…... • I’ve wanted to do something with this for a long time…... / but now that I’m preparing to move interstate there’s so much to do, so much to organize, so little time…... / I feel I can relate to this somewhat…... it’s so nice to be able to vent a little…... release a little tension. However, I DO NOT condone shooting in built up areas…... just so we’re clear….. [canon 1000D, canon 75-300mm lens, Focal Length : 100mm, F/5.6, edited in ACR, redynamix, photoshop]
