In the 23rd century machines will become the ultimate extension; the apotheosis of our frail human anatomy. / I owe a belated thanks to Toxy for his story Concept which influenced the final direction taken for this magnificent theme.

The original was quite tiny…75mm across by 100mm high. Glad I got a half decent pic before it sold

Angled shot taken inside the Anglican Cathedral in Liverpool. Really enjoy finding new angles and views within this building and its a great place to practice my photography. / . / Spent a lot of time with the position and cropping of this image to produce the desired look. / . / Your comments always help. / . / ste / . / Location: The Lady Chapel / . / The first part of the Cathedral to be completed and consecrated for worship was the Lady Chapel. The style of this lovely Chapel, which stands at the far south east corner of the Cathedral, is more elaborate than the main body of the Cathedral in a way which reflects its date and the influence of G F Bodley who was, at that time, working with the Cathedral architect.

Or Why I hate my computer engineering job / A work in progress. Perhaps nothing encapsulates who we are better than the Soul of ~~. This statement of our values, beliefs and aspirations is at the heart of what makes us a great company. At the core of The Soul of ~~ are the members of our team who everyday, throughout the world, demonstrate our commitment to Customers, the ~~ team, Direct Relationships, Global Citizenship and Winning. Just an interesting effect I got by holding my thumb over the flash, PS’d a bit to make it look a bit more colourful. Copyright © 2008 Simon Deevy. A re-work of previously posted image. I love the work of Helene Kippert and PepperPepper – they both put a wonderful organic feel into their work. So here, in my own way, I’ve hoped to give this image a new life. / Thank H & P for your inspiration :)

Completed in 2004, age 17 Been awhile since I have uploaded an artwork.. I have several drawings and paintings from highschool, but I just haven’t had much time for scanning; or in this case as it is a very large painting (40” x 30”), photographing and skewing in photoshop… This is a slightly cropped version of the original, due to the limits of my camera. My original signature got cropped out so I had to insert a new one in photoshop; in the original it is not actually located there. The two subjects are posed in similar positions, each having a dark, circular central focus., Both images have lines above and surrounding the centres, which draw attention towards the centres. The vertical composition help strenghten the feeling of height given by the vertical lines. Both subjects are organic, however one, the eye, has straight lines and geometrical shapes, while the rose has curvy lines and organic shapes. In the eye, the centre is literally dark, while in the flower the darkness is created by shadows. To me religion shoulden’t be about big, showey buildings and being preached too.I prefer a more natural approach ””The Kingdom of Heaven is inside you and all around you Split a piece of wood, and I am there Lift a stone and there you will find me” (interior shot at St,Conan’s Kirk on the shores of Loch Awe, Scotland)
