I took this photograph while visiting my family in Switzerland. This is my aunt’s orchard, during one of those long, foggy winters when everything seems perpetually covered in hoarfrost. Treated in photoshop. Unfortunately, I took this before I upgraded to a Canon Rebel, so it’s low res and only available as a card here on RB, though I’ve successfully enlarged it to a 5×7.

I took this shot today while I was at Enniskillen Orchard in the Grose Vale region of the Hawkesbury district.. / The orchard is located on the Sydney Farm Gate Trail. It is a wonderful place and the nostalgic country-style shed really sets the scene for an orchard.. / Hopefully one day soon I will get the opportunity to photograph some of the wonderful sights that can be found in the orchard itself.. / I would definitely have to encourage anyone passing through, or living in, the Hawkesbury to drop in and try some of the local produce, it is a great place.. / I couldnt really think of a title for this one so any suggestions would be great, and as usual comments are more then welcome :) / Thanks for having a look!! Every year I take so many shots of blossom, I must have hundreds of photo’s of it! The problem is that I have an orchard at the back of my cottage full of apple trees, cherry trees, plum trees, pear trees…...........

With the arrival of summer comes fresh fruit, sweet and juicy and filled with wholesome goodness. I made a trip to a produce market and had to photograph the goods before cutting them up into fruit salad. This collage is a celebration of the abundance of the season.

This image was captured at Enniskillen Orchard which is a part of the Hawkesbury Harvest and the Sydney Farm Gate Trail. / The photo is straight from my camera, which is one of the reasons I am so happy with it, everything just seemed to work! / This is what I consider to be the first successful insect macro I have taken, I was really happy with the composition.. I hope you like it! / As always it is best viewed large.. / Taken at lifesize (1:1) with a reversed 50mm f1.8 nikon lens..

Another one of my recent images taken at Enniskillen Orchards. / With this image I tried to take a different approach by turning the focus to a small part of the scene rather than taking in the entire landscape through the row of peach trees. I added a very soft layer of sepia to the image to give it a warmer feel. / Hope you like it and thanks for looking!

This image was taken at the Peak of fall late september 2008 at Plum Orchard Lake. The lake is nestled between Haystack and Packs mountains on Plum Orchard Creek. These mountains rise 700 to 900 feet above the lake (elevation 1,765). Late October…it had been a cold summer and we hardly hoped for any fruit, but the old stone wall had been kind as in years past, keeping the warmth of the sun in it’s bones, so that the pears grew fat and juicy, hanging so low, we had to tie them to prevent them from falling…then suddenly it was winter and we ran to gather them in…visons of pear jams, compotes and chutneys urged us to hurry before a frost set in…they felt good in the hand, plump and juicy….stored in the root cellar, they will take us through to spring...excerpt…The Old Pear Tree..Janis Zroback Watercolour on Arches Not Paper / Pears and Lace
