I belong to this group! / / ... / / ... / / ... / / ... / In Smithfield, Sydney, there’s a Dutch shop. At the back is the Dutch Australian Cultural Centre. Near the door of the D.A.C.C., is an O.B.C.Z.! / I buy the Dutch licorice and stroopwafels (syrup waffels/wafers). I an a D.A.C.C. boardmember and I look after the O.B.C.Z. (Official Book Crossing Zone). / How’s that for combining my interests? Oh! and, like today, when it’s my turn to be there for visitors to the D.A.C.C., I fill my time by painting!

Schindler’s factory still stands today. If you enter through the pedestrian gate (to the left of the main gates which have purposefully not been repainted since he left), you can ascend to a small room with a guest book. You can visit a small part of the building where Oskar Schindler had his office.

Because of copyrights it is not possible to show an image with the use / deformation of the olympic rings in order to expose ideas about the Chinese politics. This limit however has helped to come up with this idea. Besides emailing etc. i wish people still write ordinairy letters or notes as well, if not, their handwritng becomes inreadable, unless you are a pharmacist… There is a version for dark shirts as well. The original i made longtime ago, the guy was painting the f, which was the symbol for the Dutch guilder, however that money disappeared since the beginning of 2002. Making this work has happened because of the invitation by an Amsterdam gallery (Reflex) asking many contemporary artists to take a banknote from any country and make a work of art out of it. I took the Brazilian note of 5000 cruzados. Recently i modified it into the euro.

The Dutch mp Geert Wilders was talking several months via various media about his short movie Fitna. In this movie – that he did put on line via YouTube – he wants to proof that the Koran is an evil book that should be forbidden, at least parts of it. / Untill then nobody had seen this movie, but it is was often subject of discussion amongst other members of parlement, in newspapers and on tv. There were already streetprotests in some Islamitic countries and the Dutch government was finding a way to hold this movie for viewing. For sure the Dutch government declares not to share the vision of Geert Wilders. They are scared for the possible consequencies, but mister Wilders has explained it is a correct movie, he has the right for freedom of speech and he wants to go on with this project, at a price if necessary. / The internetprovider where his site for viewing was hosted was blocked untill they had seen the content and untill extra payments were made because of the huge traffic they expected. After viewing it, its just childish cut-and-paste work with images/statements we already know, he is just pretending that Islamitic culture can lead to extremism, insulting many people who are staying far away from that intention. / Since the Dutch cineast Theo van Gogh was murdered (2004) in Amsterdam, Wilders is protected and escorted by police and bodyguards. Some people say the t-shirt has been introduced last century by the American Navy to avoid soldiers exposing their hairy chests. Now the hair is visible again! Most of the Dutch people celebrate queensday the 30th of april, although her birthday is in january. Because of the climate Queen Beatrix kept the date from her mothers birthday to celebrate.
