  Yeeeeaaah….after a long day of chores, running around and my weekend cleaning…I began to log on to my favorite site…only to find, one of my newest works staring back at me…and let out a small yelp of joy…to myself! ;) / It’s strange almost to see my own work on the homepage…I always check out what works are featured; it’s a great way to find new artists to watch and I really enjoy the themes. What’s the good news, you ask? The fact that even though I was gone, someone was moved enough to create a wonderful artwork with one of my photos as reference! I feel so honoured and happy. I think it will be a lot easier to put up any art that I buy!!!   Hello there fellow Pattern Lovers! Natalie and I have been mulling over a fabulous idea to inspire all of those pattern aficionados out there. We are wanting to create a group “Patchwork Quilt” if you like, we are going to set a colour for every month and we want people to submit patterns using predominantly that colour which we can then put together into a virtual quilt. We would like to go even further with this and make each quilt represent a month of the year and put together a calendar at the end of the year. February and March are finished – they were Red and Black, but April is up and running with the colour Orange! So get your patterny inspiration up and creating for our quilts. February March Look forward to all the patterns being added to I ♥ Patterns. And remember to tag your work appropriately i.e. PATTERN_RED or PATTERN_ORANGE so I know which ones to use.

  Bet you thought it was going to be about firedancers again. Nope! This is my entry into Melinda Kerr’s Seriously Hot competition! Waiting for nothing This photo was shot on the walkway of the Cahill Expressway in Sydney. About halfway along the walkway at Circular Quay, there is a shelter, with some benches – like a bus shelter. However there is no bus stop there – it’s just a nice place to sit and look at the bridge and harbour. No other purpose that I can determine. / / I love shooting at night, and generally am out alone when I’m shooting – it’s when I produce my best work. This is one of my favorite places in the city. You can sit here alone for hours, traffic streaming past, only the occasional pedestrian, while hundreds, or even thousands of people are just a few feet below. It’s both a quiet spot to find refuge, and a place that symbolizes the loneliness and isolation that can be experienced in a city of millions.

  Just want to let all Bubblers know that I am directing a fundraising event at ‘Gasworks Arts Park’ in Albert Park, Melbourne, April 8-19. This journal entry is especially aimed at those who are passionate about endangered animals and their habitats. / In July 2007 I went off to Borneo with a small group of self-funded shutter-bugs to photograph the habitat of the Orang-utan. It was a “Photographic Charity Challenge”, in conjunction with Zoos Victoria All proceeds from the sale of our photographs at the exhibition will be directed to The Australian Orang-utan Project and Fauna Flora International through Melbourne Zoo’s conservation trust. I hope as many of you as possible can come along and see what a group of dedicated photographers can do in the difficult environment of the Borneo jungle and support us by buying one of our photos.
