Lens:18-55mm F/3,5-5,6G / Focal Length:31mm / Aperture:F/11 / Shutter Speed:1/320s / Sensitivity:ISO 100 Today it was 04:00 am and we were on the way to climb for an hour by car then ofcourse by walk with the equipments around 2 hrs.. I began to climb when we got the region..And then, I climbed around 5000 ft.. Then the mist began.. So I had to stop climbing cause it was getting risky and I dont like making mistakes “in purpose”.. I waited around 10 mins but saw the mist was coming up on me.. So I gave up and decided to go back down.. :)) This time it didnt want me to climb.. So I got back and after 5 mins, storm began with the wind.. :(( (anyways, I did the right ) / In this week we will try again and again… Although we get the forecast from the satellite, it doesnt somehow match (or it changes too fast) :)) I keep posting them in serie :) / This one is one of the first shots when I got to region.. / Well I keep trying :)) TAke Care All :)) / Region Arhavi -TURKEY

“Dilys” is very intriguing to me…her name originates in Wales and means “perfect”....at the end of the painting session she was Dilys and that was it…but I keep wondering what her story is all about…she wears a purple ribbon in her dark hair, and her lips are parted gently…what is she thinking? As always, this image started out as something completely different but because my computer is from the ark and I constantly get ‘windows has encountered an error’..blah, blah I ended up with this! There were so many more elements I wanted to add but my patience got the better of me and I decided to call it quits before I lost everything again. I think this has got something to do with Autumn but I lost the plot! / Hope you like it regardless…

Best on Full Size This adorable female cardinal perched outside my kitchen French doors (in Maryland) during The Big Blizzard of ‘09 yesterday, December 19, 2009, clearly a bit kerflustered (thanks again Renee Dawson for that perfect word!) by all the snow and wind. But just to her side was is a huge bird feeder, filled to the brim with tasty goodies for her and her family. Focal distance 300mm. Image taken with the Nikon D300 and the 70-300mm vr Nikon lens. Shutter 1/20, aperture f/9, exp -.33, iso 1000. Spot metering. Post processing included work in levels and curves. Nothing fancy … no textures.

The Australian bush… / Summertime… / An unspeakable tension fills the air. / Watchful eyes turn to clear horizons… / Clouds appear… / The mirage gradually shimmers into reality… / Smoke! A bushfire rages beyond the ridge fanned by a searing west wind. / The Christmas tinsel hung around the porch flutters wildly as if sounding a quiet alarm. / An invisible aura entombs the body… / hot / repressive / heavy / As if pressing you into the very soil below your feet. / Lungs that breathe in smoke, filter out dust. The flag on the gate states proudly the owners are Australians… it suddenly grows still…then, as if bought back to life, it flaps madly in the opposite direction. A fresh wind full of the aromas of the sea, breezes past sweaty faces on its rush to quell the lapping waves of distant flames. Pushed violently back on themselves they peeter almost instantly it seems into a smoldering heap of burnt remains.
