This is obviously not an original idea, and I want to thank both ECGardner and Angelique Brunas for their works along these lines that motivated me to explore my own creativity. I hope they do not mind my using their work as a basis for my inspiration, and I am still working to achieve the balance, beauty, and artistry they have exhibited through their respective nature based collages! I will give folks a while to guess what the various panes are comprised of, they should be pretty easy to figure out, later I will insert the proper descriptions of their contents. views: 3424 / favs: 51 Completed 2004 age 18 I was inspired by the Japanese artist Hiroshi Senju, who tends to limit his colors in his paintings. Sometimes he paints an image where the background is the complimentary colors of the subject. His style is simple but at the same time intense, where the foreground stands out from the complimentary background. Medium: Watercolors This is a painting done in my sketchbook. The paper isn’t watercolor paper, but at least more durable than regular printing paper. It is located in Flatwoods, Kentucky, in Greenup County, which lies in the northeastern part of the bluegrass state. Many of my relatives live in or just outside of Flatwoods, and my Dad built this one. / / The scenery from this road is almost surreal, it is so beautiful. Surrounding this road are country farms, barns and old churches. This road winds around a gorgeous mountain cloaked with a variety of lush trees and evergreens, whose leaves are radiant in the Fall of the year with brilliant shades of yellow, orange, red, brown and green. / / At the top of the mountain is the end of this magnificent road, which leads to a private, gated mansion that overlooks the entire county. It is very quiet and peaceful there, and everything, including time, seems to stand still on this beautiful road.
