I’m always a pattern lover since I was a kid, so here comes a work that uses very basic elements within to show the beauty of light, colors and patterns. ian
Multi-tiered cloud strata with sunset.
Fractal art.
Digital, image manipulation. 16×20 inches. Planet in flames with a ring of fire.
This artwork was featured on the front page of Imagekind This artwork was featured by RB groups: / Art in Math / Avante-Garde / Digital Abstracts & Patterns / Experimental / Shapes & Patterns / Available with other artwork at MY GALLERY This surreal artwork is a bit Daliesque in the sense of its unexpected shapes, and the depth of the landscape. The colors, the look of the ‘false’ sky, and the alien appearance of the landscape all lend an air of mystery and wonder to this artwork. Inspection reveals that the sky has folds in it, and is actually part of the rest of the scene. The entire artwork is just one large convoluted 3D object. The organic curves, gently flowing and turning in an unexpected composition, the muted orange and rust colors of the landscape, and the blues and yellows of the ‘enclosed’ sky, present themselves in an intriguing and unique interplay of light and color. There is some accidental symbolism in this art which is often overlooked. The result is an appealing, restful, and mysterious landscape that could only be found in the mind of its artist creator. Please join me and enjoy this view of my mental meanderings. How many times have we heard our mother tell us Come on, eat it! It’s full of good things! Well, here is proof that moms are always right! Again, this is my starting image. Please refer to Renaissance Still Life for more details on how it was made. I selected only the fruit with the elliptical marquee tool, and discarded the rest. Then I sperized with the distort filter, and scaled everything to fit into the apple. To obtain the final image, I mostly stacked three layers of this image of a red apple ornament over the fruit, blended in screen mode in various opacities. Finally, I adjusted levels for each colour channel separately.
