This intimate, bright yet dark, static yet flowing, autumn themed image was made in Baxter State Park, Maine, USA in October 2006. I like the contrast of the flowing water beneath the still branches, the pop of color from the remaining birch leaves, and the juxtaposition of the branch atop the stream in tone and color! /

36×48’’ Acrylic on Canvas When I was young, my family camped at many natural springs. My father, had an orange tent that lit up the dark like the sun. Perhaps an Idealization of youth, but I miss the tent and the times.

Very little remains now, of the once thriving Spa industry at Clifton Springs of the 1870’s, when people used to travel by ship to the now derelict pier in the background and bath in and bottle the natural mineral spring waters that were in abundant supply, at the water’s edge.
