/ “Escape” is part of the Journal, Abstract Symbolism, and Graffiti and Altered Images Collection…how often do we feel trapped within our own skins…find it impossible to “peel away the layers” to get to the heart of things..we are with ourselves alone…escape is not an option... Watercolour, Masa Lace paper, Onion skins and Pigment Inks, on an Altered Journal page… Escape is such a thankful Word / I often in the Night / Consider it unto myself / No spectacle in sight Escape…it is the Basket / In which the Heart is caught / When down some awful Battlement / The rest of Life is dropped ‘Tis not to sight the savior / It is to be the saved.. / And that is why I lay my head / Upon this trusty word ..Emily Dickenson NEIL says it another way…listen… “I am,” I said / To no one there / An no one heard at all / Not even the chair / “I am,” I cried / “I am,” said I / And I am lost, and I can’t even say why / Leavin’ me lonely still /
This reminds of the many choices we face each day. We begin with a simple step and as we move through our journey we face decisions, choices, options. Which one do we select? Thus the title, Stepping Stones; depicting the many / colors of our choices. / /

T.D. Ruley©2008 After climbing the many steps towards self improvement, I come upon a tall, strong door. All around me, broken stairways are falling away revealing my limited options on how to proceed. /

This t-shirt was inspired by a friend who informed me about a huge debate on the internet that I had been oblivious to. Ninja’s versus Pirates (who would wn) This t-shirt is in his honour for lightening up my day and making me laugh. There is a 2nd shirt about Ninja career option also uploaded. I also hope to follow up with some pirate ones or ones about the debate itself.

The advantage these kids had is that the Principal,Mr. White, REALLY believed this for them…until they could believe it for themselves…. AWESOME man at the helm… / Knowing for these children…Failure is NOT an option!
The little orange kitty was on my patio hiding under some shelves when it started raining & he got scared. I kept hearing an unfamiliar meow & when I went to investigate I found him huddled up trying not to get wet! Well the rain came down pretty hard for all of about 8 whole minutes & when my kitten discovered the open door he came out & quickly found the little one but he wasn’t playing nice & would hiss & growl & swat at him so I kept jumping in to stop him. Each time he’d just take off & go play somewhere else and each time he did that little kitty would be right behind him & up in his face again! It was hilarious! That kitty wanted to play & he wasn’t giving up on it! I finally just let them go ‘cuz I couldn’t keep that kitty out of his face & I couldn’t see wearing myself out trying to do the impossible. They had a few more incidents but that kitty was determined & before it was all said & done my kitty was playing with him some not outright of course but he was warming up to him a little. Well he wasn’t hating him so much anyway. That’s a start! =)
