  • Ophelia
    by fallenrosemedia

    US$3.99–US$91.20

Model is Missy / Makeup and Hair by Loran Bean / Assistant – Adam / Photography and Post by myself Comments are very appreciated. please leave one! I thought I might say a little bit about how we got these Ophelia shots. Missy is a VERY talented photographer friend of mine (to view her work, go http://missyjanek.deviantart.com/) and she has also modeled for me in the past. I thought she’d be great for this concept, so we started about 3pm yesterday. All was going well until she got in the pool and said “I don’t know how to swim!” So we struggled and propped her up with pool noodles and floaties and Adam even held her legs while she tried to stay afloat. I felt like she really was going to drown a couple of times! (We kept her in the shallow end, of course! and my dog was keeping watch as life guard.) For someone who had not really been in water before, I think she did a great job. :)

Her clothes spread wide; / And, mermaid-like, awhile they bore her up: / Which time she chanted snatches of old tunes; / As one incapable of her own distress, / Or like a creature native and indued / Unto that element: but long it could not be / Till that her garments, heavy with their drink, / Pull’d the poor wretch from her melodious lay / To muddy death…” (Hamlet – Act 4. Scene VII)

I was inspired by William Shakespear! / I love the Theatre and I always wanted to play Ophelia. / So here is the only way right now, but one day I will take on her character on stage! One day! William Shakespeare (1564–1616) / / HOW should I your true love know / From another one? / By his cockle hat and staff, / And his sandal shoon. / / He is dead and gone, lady, / He is dead and gone; / At his head a grass-green turf, / At his heels a stone. / / White his shroud as the mountain snow, / Larded with sweet flowers, / Which bewept to the grave did go / With true-love showers. /

  • Celebration Of Life
    by udonchow

    US$4.66–US$106.40

Oil Pastel And Acrylic (With minor digital enhancements) Here’s Ophelia all dressed up for a party that she’s hosting! A party that celebrates all that life has to offer, both the good and not so good :D She’s wearing her new flower feather clips and a ribbon belt to adorn her waist. All who read this will be invited! A belief that Life is to be celebrated, not just the ups but the downs too. It is easier to give thanks and rejoice when things go well for us but can we still do the same when things dont turn out the way we want them to? In dry or in bountiful times, I keep reminding myself to count my blessings…to adopt the mindset of abundance and not of scacity. In fact, everyday can be a celebration of life…just take a few moments..and you will find that you are “richer” than you think you are :D You can view and buy my other “Celebration Of Life” products at my Zazzle Gallery:

©2007-2008 Aimee Stewart, Foxfires – please see my CC Terms of Use before considering using this image for any personal or commercial use http://foxfires.deviantart.com/journal/6266450/ / (Please do not repost this on Photobucket or Flickr!) / —-—-—-—-——- “These are my dreams, so simple and few, / Dreams we hold in the palm of our hands…” – Loreena McKennitt / —-—-—-—-—-—-——- Many have asked me if this is Ophelia drowning. While the imagery is very much the same, this is actually more of a serene, dreamy concept. One of simply floating in the wonder of life itself, and letting the beauty carry you. • Read all about this character and all the rest of the “Lighter Side of Dark’ gang in the new series by Paul Rees-Jones and Shannon Rene’ Justice! Available for purchase online! Molly the Lil Witch, Oscar and Ophelia by Paul Rees-Jones The night was stormy and rather bleak, / Molly was a little bored witchy freak. She mulled over spells and warmed up her cauldron, / To create some friends to end her boredom. She delicately sewed a doll from rags, / Smiling and singing, a rather cute hag. And when she was done she was bright as a star, / Because held in her hands was the rag boy, Oscar. But soon she thought about the little boys heart, / To be all alone when his life just starts. So she borrowed small string of yarn from his hair, / And fashioned Ophelia, a sister to share. A spell and a cloud of nasty green smoke, / And Molly had made two little doll folk.
