An old bicycle at the old dairy factory Freia, Openluchtmuseum, Arnhem, Netherlands. The steam-driven factory Freia was the first dairy factory in the Dutch province of Friesland, starting its production in 1879 and continuing until 1970. In 1991, its oldest part was rebuilt in Openluchtmuseum (Open Air Museum) Arnhem. March 2008. Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135, tripod. Post-processing: retouch, sharpening, color enhancement, crop.
This image captures the opening bud of Corymbia ficifolia ‘Wildfire’, which is a spectacular, dwarf flowering gum tree.
This is a sign of spring for me, especially now, when some Robins have started to stay year round in Colorado. This picture was taken at Crown Hill Park, near Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The park belongs to Jefferson County Open Space, and they have a wildlife sanctuary in one corner of the park, where I got this image, in February 2008.
I shot the window and Matt shot the leaf and grass. Love this! [Double Exposure Project #3 – Oregon and San Diego Exposed] This is one of the images produced through double exposing a roll of film with my amazingly talented, generous, and dear friend Matt Adamik. This is our third attempt at working with this process and I am in love with every image yet again. Matt lives in Oregon and I live in San Diego. He shot the roll first, mailed it to me, and I shot over top his photos. Neither of us knew what the other was shooting. The results are astounding and breathtaking. And fun! We will be collaborating on many more double exposure projects in the very near future. A wonderful way to bring Oregon and San Diego together, as well as the styles and friendships of two photographers. I am absolutely in love with this type of photography! I highly recommend it for everyone. Thank you Matt for everything! Goggles Down!

Some more of these wonderful velvety roses, greatest roses ever I swear. I adjusted the white balances when I shot this to give it a more bluish tone. Taken indoors with flash and with a sigma 105 mm macro lens. Enjoy!
/ “Still Life With An Awl” is part of my new collection of paintings of everyday things…things like tools, that we take for granted until we need them…one of my favourite places to go is the hardware store…I love the scent of paint and new metal…I sniff the air as I walk in and revel at all the new things I could get to make my life easier…here is a new type of level, I say to myself…here is something for finding the studs faster, so I don’t have to go knocking and listening…here is a new type of tape that doesn’t rip the drywall to pieces after I paint…I’m going to treat myself to a Dremel tool with all the parts this weekend…what excitement!!..I can’t wait... Watercolour on Arches Not Paper… FEATURED IN …MATURE WOMAN…FIRST THINGS AND FEATURED MEMBER… / / The Legacy / Still Life with Old Dandelion Stencil and Terracotta Pots / Still Life with Wellingtons / The Sap Bucket
/ This is a new addition to the Collection…Everyday Things…the tools we use and taked for granted have an intrinsic beauty…this red handled wrench and clamps with the screwdriver are from my own tool box... For now we see through a mirror in an enigma, but then face to face. / Now I know in part, but then I shall know as also I was fully known. Corinthians 13. Hand Drawn with watercolour markers, on hand made Ink Transfers on Saunders Waterford Hot Pressed Paper.. FEATURED IN…WORKS ON PAPER / Still Life with an Awl / The Legacy / Still Life with Old Dandelion Stencil and Terracotta Pots / Still Life with Wellingtons / The Sap Bucket
/ The latest additon to the Everyday Things Collection is “Still Life with Picture Wire” ....this series is very personal to me in that they represent objects and tools, that are part of my life…I remember being told long ago by an art expert, that it is best to paint what you know, and I feel that the things I use, not only contribute to the quality of my life but have an intrisic beauty of their own... Mighty Leaf teabags are so pretty even when used…all that stitching and silky mesh / Astonishingly, I just found out a couple of days ago from Mingtees, about a world famous artist who has painted the very same everyday things that I do…’How wonderful” I thought…most of those pieces were done some time ago and I am very curious to see how he did them…his newest works on exhibit at the Pace Gallery now include the real tools actually hanging from the canvas…it proves to me that we certainly don’t work in a vacuum…there are probably many other artists around the world who feel the same way as I do and paint the same things... “Its not easy facin up when your whole world is black” Sometimes.. there is the darkness.. and all the colors seem to disappear.. moments of anger..wanted to be heard.. but the sound of anger still frightens me.. as if i’m gonna loose myself if i do let them have a voice.. After loosing two loved ones in six months time at a certain point i felt this anger that overwhelmed me completely and it scared me.. so i hid it.. deep down inside of me.. knowing that if that door would open i wouldn’t be able to hold it down.. i was able to hide it for almost 18 years and then other experiences opened that door.. and still i tried to avoid it..being afraid of what it could lead to.. but in the end in order to be able to live, really live instead of just surviving – what i have done for a long time- you need to look at your demons.. so i let them have a voice.. this creation reminds me of accepting my anger if ever it wants to be heard again.. These are a strong breed of daisies and while some seem to be dying off others are reborn and are exploding with joy. :-)

I really wish you could see this one even larger .. detail gets so lost in RB’s preview (sigh) ... I’m now trying more new things … this one is two apo fractals layered then mirrored along with other tweaks, texturing and lighting … as for what it is … good, neutral or malevolent I leave that up to you, the beholder (grin) Work done in Apophysis 2.06 3D with post work in Gimp.
