I finally got to paint this from my digital manipulation, Don’t Give Up Searching . I’m so pleased with the result. I used a few different textures and oil paint and made the eye brown rather then blue so that the image was unified in pallet to suit a college project so that I could paint this particular piece without abandoning duty.

/ I find the patina of age very intriguing and exciting to recreate in paint…I always have cuts of MDF and Masonite primed with gesso waiting in the wings, ready for when inspiration hits me…lately I’ve been preoccupied with doors and things to do with doors….I made this door old…very old…it has withstood the test of time and all kinds of weather and has been painted many times, attesting to a tale of many owners…lately someone dressed it with a shiny new red door knob…why? if it could talk it would tell many stories.... Romans 3:22-24 This righteousness from God comes through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.

I shot the window and Matt shot the leaf and grass. Love this! [Double Exposure Project #3 – Oregon and San Diego Exposed] This is one of the images produced through double exposing a roll of film with my amazingly talented, generous, and dear friend Matt Adamik. This is our third attempt at working with this process and I am in love with every image yet again. Matt lives in Oregon and I live in San Diego. He shot the roll first, mailed it to me, and I shot over top his photos. Neither of us knew what the other was shooting. The results are astounding and breathtaking. And fun! We will be collaborating on many more double exposure projects in the very near future. A wonderful way to bring Oregon and San Diego together, as well as the styles and friendships of two photographers. I am absolutely in love with this type of photography! I highly recommend it for everyone. Thank you Matt for everything! Goggles Down!
These two little babes are brand new; they hatched only one day ago. Mother Cardinal spends most of the time in the nest, keeping them warm, while Father Cardinal makes visits to the nest with grub worms and all sorts of goodies for the ravenous chicks. One of the three eggs didn’t hatch so that means more food for this healthy pair. Any sign of activity at the nest and these two pop up with bills wide open, anticipation quivering in every molecule of their tiny bodies. I’d like to dedicate this image to Kimberly Palmer who wanted a peek at these two after I mentioned they had hatched.
This is a sign of spring for me, especially now, when some Robins have started to stay year round in Colorado. This picture was taken at Crown Hill Park, near Wheat Ridge, Colorado. The park belongs to Jefferson County Open Space, and they have a wildlife sanctuary in one corner of the park, where I got this image, in February 2008.
