Sure he’s cute now (so was Darth Vader as a kid) but he’ll grown up to be a monster.
The same bike the same s/c but with the onions also – I couldn’t decide which one I prefered out of these and as Jason mentioned the onions on no.1 what else could I do!! Thanks Jason without your tutorial I would still be struggling because then of course hubby Rob worked it out before me so he wrote it down – and now – it’s a breeze but hard and time consuming! I’ve seen what onions can do to people. Do you know they laugh at you behind your back while you’re crying? Pure evil. Nice in stir-frys though.
why does onion-boy always make her cry? such heartbreak and onion-boy has done nothing, but offer his love.
what a character, so quick on his feet, that onion-boy!
he tries as he can to be the best companion as possible. / he just wants to get close. it reads: “i won’t break your heart, but i might make you cry.”
And this ones for the girls…

This is my first still life watercolour painting of Red Onions, 26cm x 21cm on reeves watercolour paper. Onions are one of the oldest vegetables known to humankind and used in so many recipes. They have healing and relieving qualities and are said to prevent scurvy and assist colds and rheumatsim. I built up the layers letting each one dry before painting the next. Onions onions in the pot / vegies, stock, herbs, the lot / makes a tasty soup for sure / please, I say… can I have more! This is my first vegetable still life painting. French Onion Soup Recipe Melt butter in pan and add 10 chopped onions cook until soft, while stirring.. / Add: 50g plain flour / 1 tbs of tomato puree / 50 mls of white wine / 1 litre of chicken stock / salt and pepper for seasoning Serve with toasted, crusty, cheese bread. YUM!
I visit my mom once a year, for about two weeks. And I spend time trying to capture things, the way I remember them. Things that do not exist anymore. Things that remind me of my childhood, and the times gone by. Today, I took out stuff from mom’s pantry. Some of it goes back to my grandmother, maybe even before that…
You know, the wonderful thing about still life is that the subject is still ....a very big plus after spending so much time trying to get macro shots of flowers that blow willy nilly in the slightest breeze and create a memory card full of out of focus shots. The other thing that I’m loving is the way the subject doesn’t mind all the fiddling ….being arranged and re-arranged…although I do think I heard a bit of a squeak from these onions and potatoes. They may have been on the verge of going on strike after all the manhandling. :-D HollyCawfieldPhotography
taken outside a Café in a nearby village to us called Blanzay I took this last year in 2007 but felt like tweaking it a bit and playing with S/C some more! Featured in Bits and Pieces and Selective Colouring Jan ‘09 Canon Ixusi zoom
Well you know I have had a guilt complex thinking poor veggies felt as though I had forgotten them and they were not important, so today off to the store I go to buy plenty of veggies for this image…now you have the best of both worlds, fruits and veggies…”-)

Summer is not too far away and this soup is a great way to consume that flood of tomatoes when you grow your own. Come to think of it, this tastes great anytime, so why wait? Cream of Tomato and Basil Soup 1 Onion / 4 Garlic Cloves / 1 Long Sweet Red Pepper / 12 Medium Size Tomatoes / 2 oz or 50g Butter / 250ml Chicken Stock / 75ml Double Cream / 1 Desert Spoon of Dried Basil / Some Fresh Basil / ¼ Tsp Ground White Pepper / 1 Level Tsp Sea Salt Peel and chop the garlic cloves and the onion. De-seed and chop the long sweet red pepper. Melt the butter in a large saucepan and add the onion, garlic and sweet red pepper. Cover and simmer gently stirring now and then until the onions are soft – about ten minutes. Meanwhile, cut the tomatoes in half, splitting where the stalk was. Cut out a V to remove the hard stalk remnants and roughly chop the tomatoes. Add them to the other ingredients and bring everything back to a simmer. Add the dry basil, salt and pepper, cover, and let it all stew gently for about 20 minutes stirring occasionally. Add the chicken stock and simmer gently for another ten minutes. Remove from the heat and now blend all the ingredients in a liquidiser or with an electric hand blender. Return it to the saucepan, taste and adjust the seasoning if necessary. Stir in 50ml of double cream saving 25ml for presentation. Serve with some torn fresh basil leaves and a swirl of cream. Revel in the taste, consume luxuriously then relax for ten minutes. Take the dog for a walk.
