The morning has come and all the others have taken to the air for they’re daily foraging routines. These two have stayed behind and are thinking it over. I guess it’s cold today and flying isn’t the number one priority just yet….
Silver pencil and charcoal drawing on A1 brown paper. / Well we were asked to go for a walk in the little section of land beside our art department to get an idea for a land art sculpture to be made of materials on site. there’s a small unused parking lot of blue metal rocks in this area which most would think makes the space an eyesore. I immediately thought how cool it would be to make what looked like water out of the unexpected material of rock. Like zen gardens use rakes to make the sand rippled like water. So this is what I plan to make in the space.

In mid-October 2005, at Peggy’s Cove, Nova Scotia, Canada. A strong Atlantic storm presented great opportunities for really good ocean pictures. This man and his young daughter were doing the same as I was, trying for the best shots as the storm built up. At this stage, the young gal decided that wind and flying spray were not her cup of tea, so she took refuge behind one of the granite boulders while Dad braved the edge of the cliff and I captured them both. But we all had a fun time! Sony DSCF828 camera. FEATURED in “The Photographer In Action”

In the quiet and ancient Via Giulia you will find this modest fountain backed up against the wall. The fountain consists of an ancient porphyry trough (taken from the Roman baths) surmounted by a large marble tablet with a kind of scroll on each side, both scrolls topped with balls made of travertine stone. The center of the tablet is occupied entirely by an enormous mask in white marble, which must certainly also date back to the Ancient Romans. With hair parted in the middle and falling below the chin to frame the face and with a fixed, empty look in its eyes, water spurts from the figure’s half-open mouth to fall into the shell below. At the very top of the tablet there is a huge fleur de lys, a sure sign that the “Big Mask” was erected under the auspices and at the expense of the Farnese family, most likely at the same time as the construction of the two fountains in the Piazza Farnese just around the corner around 1626. Limpkin – Maitland, Florida. “The Limpkin (also called “carrao”, “courlan”, “crying bird”), Aramus guarauna, is a bird that looks like a large rail but is skeletally closer to cranes. It is found mostly in wetlands in warm parts of the Americas, where it feeds primarily on apple snails of the genus Pomacea. Its name derives from its seeming limp when it walks.” Nikon D90 /

Swans have nicely shaped curves. Two swans easily form the shape of a heart….with just one touch!
When an image is reflected so clearly it merges to create a new image which is the combination of the image and the reflection. / The trees in this image are reflected so clearly in the water I can’t help but see something completely different – I am thrown into the “abstract”. Only alteration is a slight crop.
