Generally I try to keep my submissions to my Redbubble and deviantArt galleries apart. If there is a submission, however, that runs really hot, I find you should see it too. And yesterday there was such a submission on dA. Within 24 hours it was viewed more than 2000 times! It is a shot taken last year in late September on my last cycling trip to Groeneveld. You all know by now that I was taken to hospital the next morning. On this day, however, I was still in absolute paradise! Later I came to look on it as dreamland. Fortunately I have been to Groeneveld already twice again the last days, but both times still by car. So one of my dreams of these weeks is to go there again on my bike. It will only be possible when the snow has cleared completely. Now we have a lot of it again though. Near Hilversum, 27th September 2009, 8.59 am / Nikon D80, Nikkor 18-200 mm at 95 mm / F 8, 1/20, ISO 400 Taken in raw and processed with Nikon Capture NX2.

Hiking again, close to home, down a narrow country lane, I discovered this derelict cottage …. love the timber frame, I think the corrugated roof may have been quite noisy in our rainy climate !! Some of you know these old guys so well by now from former visits. But I am sure you will not mind revisiting these lovely beech-trees under the very different circumstances on a September morning with really thick mist. / As I enthousiastically told somebody whom I met a bit later: mist like this makes nature a photographer´s paradise! There are few things which make me jump out of bed in the morning these days, I am afraid to say. The mist of this morning did it! And I was not sorry for it! Not at all. The forest between Hilversum and Lage Vuursche proved to be a great shooting ground again. I am sure you shall see more of it. This calender consists of a series of ongoing portraits created through the process of stepping out of my own way and allowing collected imagery symbols mixed media and intuition to BECOME! Once upon a time…... I planned my art by doing a sketch or having an idea….at least a place to start. And once upon a time I realized there was more that needed expressing than my underused brain could imagine….and I have a GOOD imagination. This intuitive way of working was a necessary step in my own evolution as artist and being….to relinquish control….to learn to listen to my inner guide or higher self. I came to find during this exercise that ‘what I was asked to put on canvas’ seemed to make no sense at all …...just strange little pieces from nowhere…or so I thought yet as I was living my life I realized that it made no sense either. I concluded that this no sense or nonsense I was creating through my judgment actually reflects the innate sense we come from and all have,,,,THE BIG SENSE….....a sense beyond …....and so I trust this way of working more than I trust my way of working! LOL Enjoy IN JOY in whatever sense you can.
