This was an amazing storm coming overhead, intense to see the difference between the dark and light parts of the sky.
Taken out the window of a moving car…..near Gore
I took this one shortly after I got my Olympus 5MP camera and was working in the low desert.
Botallack Mine is situated in the St Just Mining District, one of the most ancient hard-rock tin and copper mining areas in Cornwall. Here the majority of principal sites lie within a well-defined spectacular coastal belt 3.5 miles long by approximately 1.25 miles wide. Copper and tin has been won here for countless generations and miners have even sunk shafts and driven levels out beneath the ocean bed. These are the world famous submarine mines.
An old door with grunge sepia look.
This sunset in Osoyoos BC Canada with its pink overtones is rather an ominous sky.
Liked the dark ominous feel this has. / Hope you do too.
Shot as seen at Sunset, no PS. The “portal” in the dark skies above me appeared & disappeared within 30 seconds, it took me about 15 seconds to get to my camera case, assemble my SLR & run back to the window & shoot it…I hope it was worth it. / To my flickr friends in the Mid West (especially around Tullamore, Offaly County) - END OF DAYS PEOPLE, END OF DAYS! :-)
Cloudscape on 10-8-08. / Taken with a Canon Digital Rebel Xsi. 12.2 mp / I only darkened this just a little for effect. / Cloudscapes are one of favorite subjects to shoot now. Take a look at my calendar if you like cloudcapes.
Some ominous clouds at the top of a small walking trail. / Taken in Colorful Colorado with my Canon Rebel XSi. / Shot is straight RAW from the camera.

Oil house paint
Taking a walk after dinner we were passing one of many farm fields and the sun was setting giving the trees a dark ominous appearance.
Driving somewhere in Lucania, may 2008.
This is another one from the rock shelf at the northern end of Mona Vale Beach, I’m hoping to shoot there early one morning when there’s a bit of colour and the tide is low, this was a reconnaissance mission. I think it would look pretty amazing with a colourful sunrise, (the sun rises pretty close to the middle of this). There are a few rock pools on the way which would be really easy to slip into in the dark before dawn, and the sea has to be fairly calm so the waves don’t take the camera, or worse still the photographer :-( Canon EOS450D 31/12/09 4:53PM / ISO100 1/2s f/7 f=18mm (EFs 18-55 IS) / Hoya NDX400 ND and cokinP 121S ND grad / HDR processed from single JPG file
