My father in the early 1900’s was employed by a store in Bethanga Victoria to bring goods for sale to farmers and diggers along the track to Omeo. This area had by then lost its punch and was settling down to agriculture instead of the heady days of the rush to the area. This was my first visit in 1953, and it is so close to what it is now, I say that Omeo has stood still, but it is not a ghost town.
