Nature abstract painting. This weekend I was out in the Hajar Mountains , it is about an hour and half drive from Dubai city . here is what i call magic of nature , to me this is just God being an artist , we all can learn something from That. / these Mountains have many layers as you can see , millions of years old , and each layer only about 6 cm deep. Simply amazing what i Personally learn from Nature.it does not get better than this for me . / I kept the colors the textures the same as they are no playing around with Photoshop here.

Ra’s al-Jinz – Oman / Marine turtle going back to the sea at dawn, after a hard night spent delivering her eggs in the sand. / Actually this one was saved from a certain death as she got stuck between rocks on the beach during the operation. She would have dried to death under the sun if we hadn’t come early to watch the sunrise, found her desperately trying to escape, and pulled her backwards from the rocks. She rushed back to the sea before the sun came too high and hot, but thanksfully – I believe indeed… – allowed us to shoot her on her way with a beautiful light.

Copper pots are everywhere at Muttrah Souk, in Muscat, Oman. I converted this shot to sepia to give them a different look.

An Omani man walks in front of one of the old merchant houses on Muttrah Corniche in Muscat Oman.
The wild diving in the Musandam Peninsula is considered the best in the world. / 200 metres from this rock islet lies the infamous Telegraph Island ( pictured below ). / In the 19th century Telegraph Island was home to a British telegraphic relay station. / The absolute isolation of this island, tucked round a bend of this remote fjord, drove many of the workers to madness. The saying “round the bend” continues to this day. / / My short film Musandam Peninsula
A group of children captured (on film) in Nizwa, Sultantate of Oman. 1985. / This is a scanned, restored and heavily cropped 35mm shot that has been languishing in an old album from my time working in the Middle-East. / Oman in the 1980’s was going through a massive rebuilding programme and this was an area that still retained the old style charm. / Shortly after this shot was taken, I was accosted by the locals and accused of stealing their childrens souls by taking this shot!
