On the Shot Put field now, the Russian contestant takes her position for a place in the record books. Unfortunately the shots are not so enthusiastic.
Oil on caleco. / Painted the day the Olympic relay came through Maryborough Vic., for the Sydney Olympics. The paint was still wet, and the wind wraped it around the pole I had it on. Changed to Sydney olympic flag over some grotty little nations. Changed the title back to Olympic Flag in memory of comments made and responded to when first pasted before some issues over suspensions and bans..
These new images using Tiera-zon are as yet difficult for me to title. But thanks to Lauren’s input….coming to help me once again….I think this may be a fitting title. The opening and closing ceremonies were so colourful and circles dominate the Olympic themes. Thanks again Lauren :-)

Late afternoon on the slopes of the Olympic Mountains as fog begins to form
I use a series of S curves similar to that of cartoonist to create movement and rhythm though out the composition and figures, much like the wall murals of Thomas Hart Benton. The colors in the images blend the backgrounds and figures together to build visual interest. Many other artists state that my color work is that of Van Gogh. Just like him, I flip my values so that there is tension between forms. Some of the painting strokes are broad while many are very thin and detailed. Art Buyers (and art lovers) will see the symbolic stories of yesterday and today. / The series is about Tons of action and fast paced sports that are illustrated and inspired by women in sports. This is where I spend my Winter weekends. I am a Entrance Station Ranger at Olympic National Park. Today (03/15/09) I came to work expecting to man this station, but the road never opened because of heavy snow and fore casted high winds on Hurricane Ridge Ski Area. I took this picture as I was starting to head down the mountain…Lynn

Newly renovated hotel in the downtown eastside. In preperation for the 2010 Olympics. Unfortunately the city is more concerned about how everything looks and is putting a ‘band aid’ over everything so when the world arrives in our city, they will see something different than what really is. This hotel stands at the corner of Hastings & Carrol street . . one of the biggest drug infested and HIV/AIDS infected areas in North America . . If i were to have lowered the camera . . you would have seen the poor, the drug deals, the homeless, the helpless all along the sidewalks. SHhhhh!! don’t tell anyone though! The reality of the 2010 Olympics.
This is street level of the reality that lives on the street and in the hotels in the downtown eastside. The same thing happened at Expo 86’ and we are seeing it again for 2010 Olympics. Hiding, moving, evictions, pretending . . . . . The government trying to mask Vancouver’s homeless, drug addicted population, for the the 2010 Olympics. It is NOT going away and they can’t pretend it doesn’t exist. This is what the downtown eastside really looks like . . . only blocks from where the world will appear in February 2010.
Black Tusk in Garibaldi Park, near Whistler, BC, Canada. This was taken as a winter storm was slowly moving in. The lighting and clouds worked together well for me to capture this image
