Pastel and a small amount of colour pencil (used to make really minor adjustments to tones) on Art Spectrum Colour Fix paper. 70cm X 50cm (A2) Comissioned Portrait of the Olivia who represents my work on the sunshine coast. I personally think its a good sign if you dealer buys stuff from you, at least you know they really do like it. I’m quite pleased how minimal this is, I used the following list of colours. 1. Raw Umber / 2. Burnt Sienna / 3. Yellow Ochre / 4. A really light tone of Raw Umber thats allmost a pink. / 5. some sort of pink I had lying around. / 6. some sort of blue I had lying around. (been though the desert on a pastel with no name…you know the ones) / 7. black (for eyelashes) / 8. White. / I used pencils of the same colours to bring tones up and down ever so slightly when I needed too. SO yeah you don’t need 500 colours to make it work IMO / Wheee..

I met Olivia for the first time on my trip to the USA. / Olivia is my niece. She is six and the youngest daughter of my eldest brother Robert. He has four daughters. Olivia took me on the tour of her Ranch in Elizabeth Colorado…showing me her seven horses, her dog and cat. Olivia is a fellow artist and it was wonderful to bond with her and co-create artworks during my 10 day stay with her. Here she is on my first day, when we met for the first time with the Koala Bear I gave her. 7 May 2009 in Elizabeth, Colorado

i did this (colored pencil) back in 1990. These were my Parents 5 Cats & Dog, left to right is Crystal, Cameron, Fergus (the Dog, Scottie mix), Ted (he was my Cat & my Parents adopted him when i had to move, he is the model for Roxanne in my Aunt Mazie’s stories, Roxanne is a girl, but Ted was so beautiful with a short tail i had to use him, & i’m sure he won’t mind), Olivia & Ceph (the Siamese in front). All these Cats & Fergus were rescues. They now have 4 Cats, all rescues, & are also taking care of my brother’s 5 Cats because he was recently evicted. my Parents have a tremoudous big heart for Animals, & people, too. i love them dearly & thank them for all they ever taught me
