This old FRAMO built until 1957 in Hainichen and Frankenberg, Germany and was one of the sights on a phototour I took with some other photographers from my photoclub. Taken in Steinfurt, Germany.
Silverton, near Broken Hill in far western NSW, Australia. (While you’re there, go to the pub with Mad Max’s car parked out front, go in, ask to do the Silverton Pub Challenge… don’t ask, and don’t tell!)
Like waiting for judgement say, there they stood, in all their glory….40s era Fords, Oldsmobile’s, Pontiac’s, Chevy’s….awaiting the rodders touch to be sculptured in lead, and reincarnated into a new life as a hotrod. Sadly, as much as I love this place, it is now forever gone. I did many shoots at Classical Gas in Eaton, Colorado….and now it is just a memory….it is forever closed as the owner has recently passed away. I was lucky enough to have been here as often as I could…preserving it forever with my camera. And while it is an older shot, it seems just like yesterday I was standing there taking this….time stands still…...much as it did for the classic 40s Detroit iron….... Thoughts welcomed, print to come. Processed with PS, DCE HDR, and LucisArt. —-—-—-—-— See more on my website jdebordphoto.com
I ‘spose anyone who knows me or has watched my work for awhile knows that I am true and tried hotrod nutcase! lol I love photographing them, the old design, the style, and I usually try to have my postwork reflect the cars era. This one being a 1950 Oldsmobile. Thoughts welcomed! John
Picturesque house rusty old volvo amazon / I was struck by the amount of color in this otherwise grey suburban-street. /

a commissioned watercolour i painted for a client. / 1940 Oldsmobile Windsor.
Emblem from an Oldsmobile Rocket 88 circa 1954 – 1958.
One of the most underrated muscle cars of the mid-60s, the Oldsmobile Starfire had a big V8 pumping out some 330 horsepower…quite a bit for this midsized car. This convertible is definitely a Friday Night cruiser and babe magnet! Grand National Roadster show, Pomona, CA Jan ‘09
Mr. Smith had an Oldsmobile. Baby blue with wire wheels…. She’s a rocket; She was made to burn.
“Stay loose, boy / Breeze it / Buzz it / Easy does it / Turn off the juice, boy / Just play it cool, boy / Real cool…” -“Cool”/West Side Story I swear that I was originally going post this one straight out of the camera. My Nikon D70/LensBaby combination captured a really great shot of this 1962 Oldsmobile Starfire convertible. Of course I just HAD to see what would happen if I added a few texture layers… That’s when this wonderful “cool” feeling started to emerge from the picture. I worked with the textures for a while until I came up with this combination. So now i had this shot and i knew it needed a title that expressed the mood i was seeing in the image. I wracked my brain for a bit and then the classic line from “West Side Story” popped into my head: “Just play it cool, boy…” I had a lot of fun creating this image… :-) Please view the image large to best appreciate the texture… /
OK! I had to stop and get this shot! ~ People have guessed this car to be a 1950’s Old’s. / You too can see this interesting FIND on the road to Hutchinson, near the town of Biscay, Minnesota! Taken with my Kodak M380 / Smart Capture
1956 Oldsmobile 88. Captured at the 2009 Hot August Nights event in Reno, Nevada.
57 Oldsmobile Super 88 convertible in cascade green with butterscotch interior! 331 cubic inch V8 provided plenty of oomph, although the 2-speed hydramatic tranny left something to be desired… / Captured at Cars & Coffee, Irvine, CA August 09 / Nikon D40, Nikkor 18-55
HDR: 3 exposures on tripod -2.0.+2, tonemapped in Photomatix Pro. Anybody know what year this is?
