Early morning shot after the frost. Mother natures work !
The Bikan Chiku of Kurashiki, Okayama, Japan. Taken during mid winter. It is one of the only places left in Japan where the whole area as been untouched and remains in its Edo style. Nikon D80, B&W change in Photoshop.
Despite looking picture perfect and (almost) nice enough for a swim, the waters of Lake Eucumbene can be freezing, with calmer sections of the lake icing over in the winter. On this day, in July 2006, despite the clear skies, the air temperature was only 4 degrees Celcius.

Karen and I went for a 2 hr walk this morning, overnight the frost and light topping of snow covered the ground. Walking along one of the many paths around Bungay, Suffulk, UK we came accross a field full of old bits, tractors, wood, beds and sheds; the owner was chain sawing wood, he kindly allowed us to take photos of these. / Amongst the trees an old bike lay against them. Nikon D200, no flash
Not far away from my house lies a country road where my son’s friend lives. He kindly allowed my sister and I to invade his family’s property for a photo shoot. The angle I chose allowed me to place the late afternoon sun directly behind the fence’s top railing. There is not noticeable glare because there was only 90 minutes of daylight left. This photo was shot in colour, but I changed the RAW file to black and white, before converting to JPG. I chose that option because I wanted to keep the colour version as well. I used the camera default settings for the black and white conversion, so I got the same result as I would have obtained by shooting directly in monochrome. No other change was made, uploaded completely as is. Shot in aperture priority / Focal length 18mm / ISO-100 / Aperture f/10 / Shutter 1/250 sec. Nikon D60 / AF-S DX NIKKOR 18-55mm f3.5-5.6G VR

This was the fenceline along my property where horses once lived years ago and this was the remaining wooden fence that we never took down. The sun was going down and made the beautiful silhouette and tangerine sky. Thank You for your views!
This tall thingie, is a war monument. Check it out here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Zelenograd_-_Shtyki_Memorial.JPG / And my city (Zelenograd), is 40 km away from Moscow. It used to be a village…..and a battlefield. / And now its actually quite an important lil place! Its the microelectronics headquarters and stuff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zelenograd Its probably not visible here…..but scale-wise…..this hill is HUGE!! As is the memorial. I just managed to catch a good perspective angle lol
this old barn may be showing it’s age, but it has a lot of character and is probably hiding some good memories. too bad it took a blizzard to bring out the real beauty. photographed in lower Virginia.
