  • Mr.Roland died two days after I took that picture,he was a realy good friend and I use to tease him a lot.He was blind but always recognised me because he knew my voice«Ah!....« Gigi de St-Hippolyte»he used to say , holding my hand.He never asked for much only to organised his meal in a way he could easily eat by himself and to give him his chaplet for the ceremony on sundays.A great person , very generous and smiling all the time. The worst part for him was not being able to go to the bathroom ,I think that idea killed him ,he was so proud. He died very peacefully with her daughter and son ,hand in hand .The hand you see in the picture is his son’s .Let’s say that if I wasn’t passionnate about my job I couldn’t do it . / 2900+ views / /

  • Ah Zebras, my favourites, i could never get sick of them and was always most excited when spotting them in Africa, they beat any other wild animals for me.

  • This shot was taken in Copacabana in 2006, a little town in the north of Bolivia, situated on the bank of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world at 3800 mts. / There was a big celebration in town that day and so much to see and discover. But I was so tired that I decided to sit down and rest for a while when those two men sat just in front of me. I took so many pictures of them but this one is my favorite. Click /

  • Poulnabrone dolmen is a 5,000 year old portal tomb in the limestone Burren area of County Clare, Ireland. The dolmen consists of a massive flat capstone supported on several upright pillars, and would originally have been covered by a mound of earth. Archeological excavations found several traces of human remains at the burial site, which now stands as a stark reminder of an ancient civilisation. Looking back through the mists of time, who knows what ancient religious rites took place at this barren and windswept scene? Winner of the Heritage in Stone group challenge Stone Circles and Standing Stones.

  • Louis sitting on our washing machine with his fav. toy… He has had this ‘tigger ‘since he was born and still sleeps with him or grabs him when he’s upset… this was taken the week before he started school (which was a really big deal for me)...

  • Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group. Thank you! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This piece can be found in my Flora Calendar. / For more products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store

  • An old Holden left for dead in Marysville, Victoria, Australia. Found it with all its windows smashed in and covered in Graffiti. HDR done in Photomatix, converted to black and white in Adobe Lightroom. Sales 8 Greeting Cards On Saturday the 7th of February my family lost our home away from home at Marysville, as well as our two Rhodesian Ridgebacks and our Abyssinian cat. • This elderly woman sits at the window and contemplates the world outside. She does not see far beyond the window frame because her world has diminished considerably. Two years ago she was officially diagnosed with dementia after a life threatening surgery and long hospital stay. However, her family and friends noticed a difference in her personality over the last several years. Once a proud and hard working single mom, she raised two children during the 60’s and 70’s at a time when single parenthood was not as widely accepted as it is today. At present, she is reduced to little more than the passive demeanor of a quiet child. She is aware of the reduction in both her mental and physical abilities. She also understands that she is helpless to change anything. / It takes great courage to face the inevitable. Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia; it accounts for 64 per cent of all dementias. For example right now in the US, Alzeihmer’s has surpassed diabetes and is the sixth leading cause of death. As baby boomers are rapidly approaching the age of retirement it is believed that 10 million baby boomers will develop Alzheimer’s in their lifetime. Currently, there are more than 24 million people in the world with dementia—this is estimated to rise to 81 million by the year 2040.6 / Statistics taken from both the Canadian and American Alzeihmer’s Society. / Published by Redbubble in Compassion, Courage and Friendship book October 2008 / Compassion, Courage & Friendship / / Featured in RB Community, Art With A Message December 2009 / Winner Black and White Photography Solitude challenge December 2009 / Top Ten in the Mood & Ambience, The Seated Human challenge, July 2009 / Featured in the Nirvana group October 2008 / Featured in the ImageWriting group November 2008 / Featured in the RB Buyer’s Booth November 2008 / Featured in the Stillness Speaks group November 2008 / Featured on RB homepage on November 25/08 / The Fine Art of Photography

  • Here’s yet another take on the Polaroid camera.

  • The world is about to end because of global warming. Temperatures are soaring, ice is melting, glaciers are retreating, seas are rising, and we’re all going to fry. We’re all up to here with worry about it. The Royal Society says there’s no longer any room for scientific doubt about it. Britain’s Chief Scientist says it’s a bigger threat than global terrorism. / Every global warming sceptic is denounced as clinically insane. Every developed nation wags its finger at every other (well, ok then, at America) and tells it to Emit Less. Every politician and B-list celebrity now anxiously measures his or her carbon footprint. Every British schoolchild is now drilled to believe that man-made global warming is a Fact along with poverty and the existence of Belgium. It’s a wonder any of us has any incentive to get up in the morning. :) Online Galleries: / Surrealism art prints / 2d3d graphic design software / 3ds models max software
