  • The owner has moved. Much has been left behind.

  • Just because I love driftwood so much, I’m uploading another driftwood image. This was taking on the wild coast of South Africa at a resort called Mbokie.

  • This building was once home to the largest used book store in Newfoundland. They had over 100,000 books at one time many of them old and rare. The owner decided to sell everything off cheap and retire. The historic building has been empty now for a couple of years. I missed the sale . . . ..................................... / Click here to add me to your watch list. / .....................................

  • An old door, obviously aged, paint peel and the appearance of rust. On the door is an old antique knocker that to me looks more beautiful old and worn that i can ever imagine it new and polished. /

  • At different states in our lives, the signs of love may vary: dependence, attraction, contentment, worry, loyalty, grief, but at the heart, the source is always the same. Human beings have the rare capacity to connect with each other, against all odds. . / . / ©2008 Globalphotos All rights reserved. / All photographs, text and images by Globalphotos are the exclusive property of Globalphotos – protected under Australian and international copyright laws. / These images may not be reproduced, copied or manipulated without written permission. / No use for Public Domain. / Use of any image for another photographic concept or illustration is a violation of copyright.

  • I took a shot of this old barn on my way home from a day of fantastic picture taking. The ladder leaning against the barn really caught my eye. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography

  • This is a splintering, old red door on a ranch in rural Texas. I’m not sure what’s behind that locked door, but I’m kind of curious…

  • A Reposting /

  • Canon Digital Rebel XT / Captured our good friend.

  • My old trusty Delfin once more. It was rather the weather and the sky that attracted my this time.

  • Canon 400D / Tamron 28.0 – 75.0 mm. F/2.8 PLACED in the TOP TEN CHALLENGE, Under Lock & Key, Photography 101 (05 13 09)

  • Prague seen from Petrin Lookout Tower (Petrinska Rozhledna), Czech Republic. More than one year ago, I’ve got fascinated by some overlay works presented in various PS fora. Last year, I found about RB and soon could admire beautiful composite works of e.g. John Edwards here at RB. Inspired by many of those images here at RB or elsewhere, I’ve been planning to put my hands on some overlay work too, but I only got to it in recent days, ultimately inspired by The Wilds Of France by onefourseven (thank you, Mat, both for inspiration and a link to textures!). / This composite is my first result on the theme, composed of my original photograph and three textures from cgtextures.com. Comments and suggestions welcome! Original photograph: May 2008, Canon EOS 300X, Sigma 28-135. Post-processing: retouch, BW conversion, curves, sharpening, sepia, color adjustment, shape cut, filter gallery, overlay by three textures from cgtextures.com with adjusted brightness/contrast/levels/color, color adjustment, blend modes; final file: 24 layers, 5540×3693px, approx. 1.5GB, color profile conversion 10min, saving time >5min.

  • South East Scotland Dryburgh Abbey. / / /

  • Inspired by Janis Zroback’s Door Series.

  • Image of a boarded window. Photographed with a Mamiya RZ 67 and TriX film

  • One of my biggest influences in art, without question, is English romantic landscape master painter J.W. Turner I discovered him while studying at art college, and I fell in love with his work. When the traveling Great Masters of Art show landed in Denver at the museum, I almost slept out for tickets, knowing that among Rubens and Van Dyck, Turners work would be there. There is nothing like seeing Turners work in person, nothing. It is simply stunning and inspiring and very motivational. So, I suppose without question that you could certainly say that whole shot was inspired by him. I wanted a shot that would really reflect the influence he has had on me as an artist and as a photographer specifically. My painting style goes without question, but trying to capture a photograph in teh same style as a master landscape painter is a different beast entirely. Did I succeed? You be the judge. About the photograph itself: Captured on the northern Colorado plains on an old country road, the old tree, though long and dead, seems to almost still hold some life as the sky paints the end of the day slowly falling behind the Colorado Rockies. Processed in Lightroom, Dynamic Photo HDR and final output through Photoshop. I hope you all like it! John

  • In Berlin (Germany)... There is a big church at the end, completely lost in the fog….

  • Photo taken on Oahu Hawaii /

  • Close-uo of the side of an old gold rush building. Taken in Columbia, California

  • Abstract Macro Photography its stuff like this shot that makes me really excited about my chosen style of photography. fookin love it! / i sometimes cannot believe the abstract macro shots that i come across on my travels, and this one it one of my new found favorites Image was approx 4inch X 2inch on a wall a good 50 foot tall by around 400 meters long and running the whole length of a old disused work site. / So it wasnt what you would call a small wall. Its HUGE / I have shot here before and studied the wall close up. / There is so much for my eyes to look at that my eyes couldnt focus on anything, probably too over excited with my find, but i came away with very little. / This time i took a few steps back from the wall and i could see and capture, so much more than when i was close up.

  • VIEW IT LARGER HERE Jumping fences again tsk..tsk..tsk ;) / At least no-one was going to poke their head out of the window of this house and tell me to get off their lawn :) / I don’t know how old this house is, probably older than me, but people pass it everyday on their way to and from work, paying no mind. It intrigues me, I picture a couple sitting on the porch having a glass of iced tea in the heat of summer. While the children chase butterflies and laugh and play. But there’s also a sense of sadness, now that it has been left to wither for so many years. Sad that it was once full of life and full of many stories from the people that lived here. All we see now, is an overgrown lawn and rotting wood. Nikon D80
