A window of an traditional country farm cottage in Ireland. Nice whitewashed wall on this shot..
This beautiful old building is located on Parramatta Road very close to Sydney Uni and Broadway. I love the graceful lines of the structure and am grateful that when it was done up and converted into luxury apartments that the exterior of the building was left untouched. The harsh lines of the windows cutting into the old signwriting make this a real visual treat and an icon on the way into to town. Taken with infrared film using a very low rent battered old analouge camera while standing on a dustbin in the servo over the other side of Parramatta road. Hope you like my building.

A stone structure alongside a trail on the West Fork of Oak Creek Canyon in Sedona, AZ.This structure is hand hewn out of the red rocks that Sedona is famous for. It sits in an old abandoned apple orchard.

another shot of the fire my volunteer fire dept was putting out wednesday night..this is a old landmark that used to be a restaurant, then a river tubing company, the river tube company has been closed for two years now. this was the 4th time this building has been caught on fire, this time..its a goner, happy to say no firefighters were harmed / you could feel the heat off this thing from 25-30 foot away! but then after all died down, we all like to have frozen our “hoses” off!! temps got down below 30 degrees (F), and we were all soaked! / it was a real challenge, shooting this , because the ony light was from the fire, and the trucks, and i hand held camera for all of the shots / im happy to say out of 112 shot, i only deleted close to 10, if that here is the link to the local tv station that has put my shots on there http://www.wbir.com/news/local/story.aspx?storyid=53827

Some things you can hardly believe when you see them. I went to school as a structural engineer, and I have to say I’m amazed this house is standing. I went to some pains to make sure the image is vertical, and it’s definitely pretty close. So yes, that lamppost on the left really is leaning like that. This is just a scene captured while on the back streets of Nallihan in central Anatolia. Sometimes I feel like every door I see has a story behind it worth telling. If you look closely there’s a padlock keeping this one shut. What we’ll probably never know is … why?
Well this is one of those occasions when I turned to the husband and said: “Stop, stop the car, I saw something back there I need to shoot!” / I just couldn’t pass up trying to capture this old barn on the way out the beach this morning. This old homestead in the Muskoka region of Ontario, refuses to surrender to the elements. “Under none of the accredited ghostly circumstances, and environed by none of the conventional ghostly surroundings, did I first make acquaintance with the house. I saw it in the daylight, with the sun upon it. There was no wind, no rain, no lightning, no thunder, no awful or unwonted circumstance, of any kind, to heighten its effect.”~Charles Dickens

Did you ever visit a place where you completely forget what year it is now? Once we walked through the front gate of the brewery we thought we stepped into 1850s. I would call it The Time Machine of Goulburn city. You walk in and for $5.20 it takes you 150 years back (tastings included). Built in the middle of 19 century it is one of the oldest surviving breweries in Australia. Beautiful place, with a lot of history in it and it is history that can be seen, touched and photographed. And the best part – it is a working brewery where good old traditional ale is still produced. This was a situation where I wished I had a wider lens than my universal Nikon 18-200mm. The window was very close to a wall and it was hard to fill the frame. I managed to find a little square of space on the stairs leading to the 2nd floor and set up my tripod there. Next steps were easy: 3 RAW merged in HDR, then tonemapped and post-processed. From my photoblog at http://www.bouncedphoton.com This print is available with 0% markup. Whitby / North Yorkshire, UK The History of Whitby Whitby has a wonderful history, a ruined abbey, a working harbour, a delightful collection of red-roofed pantile cottages, narrow cobbled streets, and claims to have the country’s best fish and chip shops. The town is also close to the scenic North York Moors National Park and the unspoilt fishing villages of Staithes and Robin Hood’s Bay. Whitby is divided in two by the River Esk. St Mary’s Church and Whitby Abbey are on the eastern headland. The Abbey is accessible by road, and also via 199 steps from the town to the summit. These steps have associations with Bram Stoker, as he based much of his Dracula novel here whilst staying in Whitby in 1890. Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (better know as Lewis Carroll) also set some of his work and poems in Whitby, as he was a regular visitor. The Abbey’s history dates back to 675 A.D. when St. Hilda founded a monastery. The present structure is from 1078 and is now in the care of English Heritage.
