  • I don’t know that man.He doesn’t talk ,walk ,hear, see…he ’s closed to the world. His wife comes every day, she’s younger than him and I can see a lot of affection in her eyes but everybody knows she has somebody else in her life. She puts a little hat on his head ,cover him with something warm and bring him to the balcony, even if it’s cold outside. One day,at the beginning of my shift,I went to get him for super ,the hat was covering his eyes and since he couldn’t move,he looked like a Mexican taking a nap …I smiled but at the same time I couldn’t help myself thinking how much he must be raging inside cut from the world like this …in fact I WAS RAGING inside for being so helpless toward that man. / posted later …. / He died a few weeks after I took this shot, both hands never openned….....Gigi

  • I finally found the tractor I have been looking for. I saw this old antique from the road and thankfully had my camera in tow. I braved the 3 feet of snow and frigid Newfoundland winds but I finally got my shot I’d been waiting to get. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography / /

  • An old piano that has obviously been well used and hopefully well played. :)

  • / Another instalment in my Nostalgia series / It was created using my painted with light techniques, if you are interested in the details, here is an article I wrote about them. In this case I set the exposure to 15sec. Equipment used: / - Pentax K10D with a SMC Pentax-M 1:3.5 28mm lens / - cheap flashlight and the camera set to auto WB which it screws up resulting in the nostalgic colours. more work / the calendar / Available as a desktop wallpaper

  • Finished this painting today. / I think the painting speaks for itself…...these old things have a history…it shows on every little bit of these objects. The metal, the rust and of course the old wood. I added the flowers as a tribute to all of these. Acrylics on MDF, 40×50 cm, 16’‘x20’‘ / ORIGINAL PAINTING WAS GIVEN TO MY SISTER AS A GIFT FOR ALL HER KINDNESS / . /

  • / I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer. Thank you! “Forgotten” is also freely downloadable as a wallpaper to decorate your desktop.

  • Featured In: / -Nostalgic Art And Photography / -Layered With Texture My father had an uncle whose hobby was photography and when Dad was 14, his uncle began to teach him how to develop photos in the bathroom that served as their makeshift darkroom. By the time I was born, he had really become quite a good photographer and my childhood and teen years are filled with memories of seeing Dad with his camera or the smells of the chemicals in the darkroom he built in our basement. During the 1950’s he used this Rolleiflex. He had other cameras later and copious amounts of equipment but it’s always this camera I think of when I remember my father’s love of photography…..probably because he was busy sticking it in my face from the moment I was born! :-) On the leather case you can see the silver oval. At that point in his life, Dad was a photo engraver so he had the tools to engrave his initials on that oval. The light meter in the foreground is one he used for years. When he wasn’t sticking that in my face or my brother’s it was always fastened to his belt. Oh….the girl in the picture is me. That was when I was three and I was holding the leather camera case and ‘taking pictures’ just like my Dad….who is, of course, the fellow on the left.

  • A new addtion to the Still Life series, “Still Life with Old Dandelion Stencil and Terracotta Pots” pays tribute to the lovely art of stenciling that experienced a resurgence in the 80s then got overexposed and trite…well know in Europe for centuries, in North America itinerant stencillors made a good living going from town to town with their tools…evidence of their beautiful work still remains today and is shown in museums around the world... / I chose to infuse this painting with the flavour of an old garden room, where the plaster has fallen off and the single stencil though greatly worn with age still looks beautiful…the terracotta pots which are so delightful to paint, add to the feeling of age…I have a number of these ancient pots, and though they are still under wraps right now, I know them so well I think I can reproduce them in my sleep... • This little gem can be found just around the corner from Loch Ard Gorge near Port Campbell off Victoria’s Great Ocean Road, Australia. I came here the afternoon before and there were snap happy tourists everywhere but decided to come back the next morning and there wasn’t a soul in sight, just the crashing ocean to keep me company… Unfortunately as of early June 2009 this archway has collapsed leaving two apostles next to eachother.
