taken in the barn. Maine, USA
Another of the buildings in this area of Wyoming.
Captured in the ghost town of Como, Colorado…..this Horse and many others like him, have had a really hard winter. The town was cut off from supplies for over 6 weeks, and when I was up that way I wanted to make sure the Horses were ok…and to my pleasure they were. / They are working horses, an icon of the American West, ridden by Cowboys and worked everyday. A disappearing icon at that, but one that will forever remain and legend and go down in history. See more on my website at jdebordphoto.com —-John
I took a shot of this old barn on my way home from a day of fantastic picture taking. The ladder leaning against the barn really caught my eye. / / Visit my website On The Rock Photography
Well, I’m back from the farm….almost froze it was so bloody cold (OK, not as cold as in some parts of the world, Simon, but I was bloody cold!! lol) Of course the first image I post has to be IR, so here it is. Filter almost froze to the lens, but I had to get this in infrared. Camera: Canon EOS 450D / Filter: R72 / ISO 400 / f/4.5 / Focal Length: 18mm / Exposure: 25sec / Tripod and frozen fingers and toes. And no, it wasn’t snowing, the grass was green, it just goes white with the ir filter.

me and cyllan found an old-school tv in her grandma’s barn, so we used it as a prop!
Frost on an old running shoe sitting on a snow bank. 1 half of the pair I used in garden and I left them outside because they were muddy. Later in the winter when I was shoveling snow I dug this one up and left it on top of the snow. A few days later there was a heavy frost and I when out to take photos of it when I spotted this frosty shoe thought it would made a neat picture. A view of the North Carolina Blue Ridge mountains from Lake Tahoma near the town of Marion. THe snow covered peaks in the upper left hand corner are the Seven Sisters and Mt. Mitchell. / THe lake was built in the 1920s real estate “boom” as a luxury development. The old building on the lake was a casino where well known bands performed regularly for dances. The 1929 stock market crash ended the development. Now the lake is owned by current property owners. THe casino has been renovated and is used for private special events. Nikon D50 /

A frosty view on my mom’s front yard in December afternoon. This is as light as it gets during the winter months. The time of the year is called “kaamos”, the sun barely rises above horizon for a few hours. For exchange there will be 24 hours sunlight in the summer!

featured in “Cards for Sale” Dec 17,2009 A photo showing the old German town of Görlitz at the outermost border to Poland. My husband took this photo on a new year’ s trip to that beautiful old town. / I digitally manipulated this picture so that it looks a little bit like a drawing. / By the way, the person in the front walking down the snowy path is me, trying not to slip on the slippery snow.
