The birds started to screech one evening. / No rhyme or reason to it. / The wind picked up, trees bending in homage. The villagers shuttered their windows and looked to their rosaries. / Fires were poked and stoked. / Candles were lit, casting flickery shadows in small spaces. She walked swiftly, wrapped up well against the cold, keeping close to the walls. It was done, and he was gone. Good riddance to him.

This was taken at the downtown loft where my church college group meets. On this day we were tearing down walls to make more room. If I’d taken a picture slightly to the left, you’d see mounds of insulation, drywall, wiring and 2×4s littering the room. It was a huge mess – hence the dust creating the wonderful effect near the window.

/ I wouldn’t like to feed the photographers for which this photo is the plain and simple truth. Another instalment in my Nostalgia series although a little different then usual in the set-up. It’s a lot simpler a composition then most of my work, but let me assure you, it was so much harder to get right! Shot with my relatively new Pentax K10D and a very old Pentax-A 1:1.7 50mm objective. You can read all about the technique used in this tutorial more work / the calendar / preview / “Forgotten” was sold as a Medium mounted print to an anonymous buyer.
