This shot was taken in Copacabana in 2006, a little town in the north of Bolivia, situated on the bank of Lake Titicaca, the highest navigable lake in the world at 3800 mts. / There was a big celebration in town that day and so much to see and discover. But I was so tired that I decided to sit down and rest for a while when those two men sat just in front of me. I took so many pictures of them but this one is my favorite. Click /

Langfords Store – Bainham / Historic General Store and Post Office, located in the beautiful Aorere Valley, the Gateway to the Heaphy Track, South Island New Zealand. / From toffee to t-shirts Storekeeping was no new venture for Eleanor, wife of Edward Bates Langford, when Langford’s Store opened in 1928. Prior to their 1900 Boxing Day marriage she had worked in her parent’s ‘Waimea Road tuck shop’ for Nelson College. / When E.B.L. relinquished dairy farming to become Postmaster in 1924 and began selling stationery to go with the stamps, he invested in a printing press, while Eleanor sold her famous homemade toffee. After trying unsuccessfully to persuade the Government to finance a Post Office to replace the locally-owned building, he turned his attention to retailing. / Lorna Langford began working for her grandfather in 1947, in the days of tinned loose biscuits and vinegar in wooden casks. She continued to work in the store until 2008, when Sukhita Langford took on the position of Storekeeper and Postmistress. Bodie Ghost Town in the Seirra Nevada Mountains in Eastern California. This 1800’s Gold town once had a thriving population of 10,000 people. It was a true wild western town with gun fights, saloons and a huge redlight district.

This old rusty Farmall Tractor has seen better days, it’s not farming much at all these days. Found near Washingtonville, PA on a Covered Bridge Photo Shoot with my folks from Germany (we found six of them that day).

This (far left) cup has been travelling around the world – who knows where it is now. Here (an old rectory in Glebe, Sydney). I’ve tried to create a disparate collection of cups (different backgrounds, histories, journeys or purposes) while they have a core similarity, connection or raison d’etre.

What remains of the Cafe and probably lodgings above it. / I was in Turkey to attend ANZAC Day at Gallipoli. / I became fascinated with Istanbul and decided to walk the backstreets which is where I found this old cafe. / Istanbul, is truley a very remarkable place. Olympus E300 / 14 – 45 mm lens.

An abandoned cottage sits decaying and un-loved, amongst the flowers and weeds which now encroach upon the front door. I spotted this while taking a walk through the woodlands behind Armadale castle, on the Sleat of the Isle of Skye. I peered through the open door, and saw that the very narrow, and steep wooden steps leading to the upstairs, were very worn, which indicated that a long time ago, maybe a large family dwelled within, maybe several generations. The rooms were tiny, and very dark within. / My imagination ran riot thinking about the folk of days gone by and how they lived ! / Sadly, it is in such a dangerous state of decay that it is not safe to explore the interior. / Maybe my image will help this abandoned home live on a little longer ? Shot on a Canon EOS 40D, RAW file processed in Photoshop CS3, then I applied the Orton Effect. /

Sacre Coeur, Paris. The amazingly original basilica is located in Montmartre, leading to the highest point of Paris city. First constructed in 1875, it was not completed until 1914, due to a problematic law system that almost stopped construction entirely. Only saved by a loophole, construction finally continued to the end. I didn’t get to spend as much time here as I would normally like to, but the climb to the top of the tower was worth it for the incredible view of the city below. Original shot layered twice, with 3 textures, colour altering of each layer, blending of layers, further colour altering and an omni light effect. I took this from a bus, while traveling between Madrid and Valencia, in Spain. I have no idea what this little village is called, but it was like something out of a movie. We past several of these on the 6 hour bus trip across the country. Spain has some spectacular scenery and quaint villages that almost seem trapped in time. Layered the original image twice, adjusted contrast and tone slightly. Added a texture layer from www.deviantart.com free use stock. Layered the texture several times over, adjusting the constrast, saturation and lightness on each to vary the colour and tone.
