Steam engine locomotive crossing a railway bridge at night. Headlight blazing the way and smoke billowing from the smokestack.
I have an old Smiths Enfield Bakelite clock at home which I got from my parents. / It doesn’t work, although I suspect it needs minimal work to make it do so. / It’s actually in fairly good condition. The clock-works are all well oiled & have that lovely old oily smell about them. / One of the things I love most about it is it’s beautiful art deco styling….. [No. 1 of series] SOLD – laminated print TOP TEN FINISH – Timepieces / Challenge – October 2009 Featured – Domestic Art – November 2009 /

Tel Aviv is called sometimes the bubble. / It is used as a negative nickname / to portray the fact that the people / who live there, live like they are in a different country, / enjoying their lives and it seems nothing / happening outside Tel Aviv really concerns them. I don’t think this is the truth. / Tel Aviv is a tolerant city, you can do / what ever you want as long as you don’t / disturb others, nobody cares. Tel Aviv is very optimistic city. / My favorite place is Tel Aviv Port. / It’s like a magic, I can arrive there / depressed and get out very optimistic. / A lot of people around, children playing, / a lot of restaurants and coffee shops, / the old port and the sea, creates very / relaxing atmosphere. / I consider it the most optimistic place / in Israel. / Tel Aviv is the most insane city in Israel. Another nickname of Tel Aviv is a nonstop city. / This is because there is always something happening / in this lively and vibrant city. / It is a city that never stops. / It is the economic, nightlife and art center of Israel. This year 2009, Tel Aviv is celebrating it’s / 100 years anniversary. Similiar image: /

FLOWER OF THE GODS / CARNATION / “Dianthus caryophyllus” / This image is best viewed large. / / The beautiful Carnation is one of the world’s oldest flowers, which can be traced back some 2,000 years ago! Scientifically, the Carnation, whose botanical name is known as “Dianthus caryophyllus,” is historically rich and quite meaningful; to the Greeks, Romans, and Christians it has been a significant flower choice, and it has been revered for centuries. / With its scientific name “dianthus,” translated to mean “FLOWER OF THE GODS” or “FLOWER OF LOVE,” this striking flower is one that has been revered for centuries. / One of the world’s oldest cultivated flowers, the Carnation is appreciated for its ruffled appearance, clove-like scent, and extended blooming period, which may last from early Spring to late Summer. / The Carnation’s history dates back to ancient Greek and Roman times, when it was used in art and décor. Christians believe that the first carnation bloomed on earth when Mary wept for Jesus as he carried His cross!! / / Carnations in these early times were predominantly found in shades of pale pink and peach, but over the years the palette of available colors has grown to include red, yellow, white, purple, and even green. / Throughout so many centuries of change, the popularity of the carnation has remained undiminished. The fact that the carnation continues to endure is a testament to its vast appeal. / The meanings of carnations include fascination, distinction, and love. Like many other flowers, different messages can also be expressed with the flower’s different color varieties. In the early part of the 20th century, Carnations became the official flower of Mother’s Day, in addition to finding particular significance in many other cultures worldwide. / To this day, the beauty of the Carnation continues to captivate people everywhere. In fact, in many parts of the world, the popularity of Carnations surpasses that of any other flower, including roses! Number One Lime Street, The Lloyds Building or Lloyds Bank Tower, here we have a low light image of the famous Lloyds Building designed by architect Richard Rogers, we see a wide angle photo showing three of the towers that make up this structure and the amazing colours from the night time illuminations. This building is one of the most famous in the City of Westminster (or the square mile) in London. We are reminded of the high flying and face pace of life in the financial heart of the city through the movement added from the blur of car lights at the bottom of the photo. This building is the centre of insurance trading for Lloyds and many of the other businesses it houses on its trading floors. The way all of the pipes, lifts, cables and wires have been hung on the exterior give us a building where we can see the organs and life blood keeping the work inside going in motion. It enables the person passing on the street to imagine that this is a place of action and to have some idea of the fast pace of life inside.
Image of Lloyds Bank Tower at Number One Lime Street, we see here a close up photograph of some of the pipes that make up the external skelton of the this modern tower in the heart of the city of London. The image is very artistic in form and is available as wall art, it has some amazing colours in the photograph with purple, yellow, pink and blue all prominant colours of this mighty builfding in the heart of the city of London.
