The series ‘Dangerously Safe’ is a documentation of security fences in suburban Johannesburg, South Africa. These forms and shapes are markers of the protection of middle class life, international legacies of the Victorian culture that remains a part of us. Some of the images are of Victorian grave boundary markers, which use the same decorative strategy to symbolically keep harm at bay.

I have an old Smiths Enfield Bakelite clock at home which I got from my parents. / It doesn’t work, although I suspect it needs minimal work to make it do so. / It’s actually in fairly good condition. The clock-works are all well oiled & have that lovely old oily smell about them. / One of the things I love most about it is it’s beautiful art deco styling….. Parliament Square, London, Engalnd, This is a low light image of the Parliament buildings at Westminster Abbey from Parliament Square in London Engalnd. This photograph is slightly different from the normal images you get of house of commons, it is taken from Parliament Square and we have used a low shutter speed to get this amazing effect of blured lights rushing passed the image. This allows a glimps into the high speed and high stress of life in this area of the city but we are also reminded that urban life is about humans and we have a silhouette of a cyclist passing infront almost left behind by the traffic rushing passed him.
This is a photograph of the front of Buckingham Palace, the main royal palace in the city of London, England. In this photo we have the full front facade against a rich blue sky with a blured black cab rushing past in the foreground. This sums up the outside and tourist view of the city. The British capitol has long been home to and ruled by the Royal Family, now the house of Windsor they are the head of state of both the UK and most Commonwealth nations although today they have no political power they act as ambasadors for the UK and the other countries they are head of state for such as Australia, New Zealand and Canada.
