  • I bought these old letters at an antique mart in Buenos Aires, Argentina back in February 2006. I set a few of them up against this old box that I have to create this image. I hope it inspires someone to NOT send an e-mail and pick up a pen to write a handwritten letter or postcard. I feel I am one of the few who still loves sending mail via the regular postal channels. Sold 1 matted print to a writer in Pittsburg, PA.

  • Yep it’s my hubby again, with the umbrella again. I sorta liked how this one turned out. It’s what I had pictured in my mind before I set out on this shoot. So was pretty happy with the results. I promise no more..well maybe just a couple.. :~)

  • Fishing boat in Monterey. Edited to suite the guidelines in Out of the Past.

  • Friday August 3rd It happened again tonight. The old fool had left the door unlocked; and there, above the cages, some apparently empty and some housing pink-eyed rodents; stood the vessel containing the precious green liquid and marked with the words: “NOT FOR HUMAN CONSUMPTION” once more, at my disposal. Thanks to yesterday’s acquisition of a rather splendid pocketwatch, I have been able to establish that administration of about 2floz of the serum is sufficient to remain effective for approximately two hours. I have thus resolved that, weather permitting, tomorrow’s edification will begin with the short trip into town whereupon I will partake in what will no doubt be another fruitful bout of “shopping”, after which with any luck, there will be ample time for a spot of inexpensive dining followed by a close inspection of the ample figures belonging to those delightful ladies up there at Pedlar’s Lane bathhouse, whom I understand, usually prefer to keep themselves hidden away from prying eyes. Dash it… Awfully sorry ladies!

  • Echinacea purpurea (purple coneflower) with a dark twist. This was the first of my Dark Dreams flower series, most of which I have pulled from redbubble. It was also one of my first images here. Obviously it was photoshoped. I get a lot of questions about why there are scratches on it, it was to give it an old aged look. The texture would make it a great canidate for a canvas print… hint hint ;) This is the original: / I believe this is the largest image in my portfolio, and that is because it was taken with my old 35 mm SLR, then scanned in (I have a really good scanner that scans really big) If you are seeing this image in a group for the first time, that is because I just realized it wasn’t in any groups! I must have cleared it out to make room for newer stuff. This peice was my very first one chosen on the Featured Art page and was featured in Ebony and Ivory group. Thank you! —-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-—-— / This piece can be found in my Flora Calendar. / For more products featuring this image, visit Karri’s Zazzle Store

  • This old oaktree must have lived up to 200 years before he turned into a mysterious landmark of a glorious past. Unfortunately a heavy storm in January 2007 caused him to fall down. So only memories remain whispering in the winds. Taken near Maartensdijk in the Netherlands. Near Maartensdijk, 17th September 2006, 8.33 am / Panasonic FZ10, 6-72 mm at 6 mm / F 4,6, 1/800, ISO 50

  • This shot was a junk shot I had already created in HDR, that I was going to toss. There were major issues w/ it, such as large white spot in the corner, blurred spots, etc. But I loved the look of the tree. So I played with it a bit, liked what I came up w/ (which was what you see, minus the girl) but thought something was missing. I added the girl and well, here’s what we got! / I really like the dark ambiance and lost feeling of the piece. I thought it would be nice to show the original shot I was gonna trash. Personally, I like seeing before and afters of photo manips, helps give a sence of what they actually go through to accomplish the final piece. / This piece was featured in and won Out of the Past Group’s May contest, “Ghosts of the Past.” Thank You!!!!!

  • 16”x24” Mixed Media (Airbrush and Ink) She looked through to her past, remembering, contemplating, holding it close to her. One day…she looked deeper…deeper still and she knew it was time to let it go. She released her past…and watched as it flew far away from her…to it’s own future…to it’s own place wild, open and free. Having let it go…she is now free, having looked through the past and on to the future. – By Carrie Glenn / Inspiration and background courtesy of Lord Michael Gatch Featured in Out of the Past / (Thanks Jerame and Michael) Featured in Surrealism / (Thanks Hop Helen and Marison ) Featured in All Things Poetic, Prose, Philosophical / (Thanks Susan) Featured in Northwest Artists / (Thanks EllieWinds) Featured in The Healing Journey / (Thanks Julie) You can contact Carrie at: carrie@carrieglennstudios.com and please visit Carrie Glenn Studios /

  • Painted from an 1880’s photo, of the fishing port of Whitby on the North East coast of England. Here, laid up, is the collier brig, ‘Opal’. The ruins of the priory, immortalised by Bram Stoker’s Dracula, can be seen on the hill. My first pen and watercolour work. Watercolour washes over a pencil drawing, then finished in ink. Hannemuhle, 200lb paper 7”x 8”.

  • Enjoy!! _

  • My entry into the Cut and Paste challenge at A T-shirt Revolution. I cut out the letters from magazines and stuck them to a piece of paper; then scanned it in; adjusted the contrast and levels a wee bit and then did a clipping path round the words. Detail / Original /

  • Written with my new analogue printer…

  • Thanks for Looking! /

  • More to go with my others :)

  • I took this from a bus, while traveling between Madrid and Valencia, in Spain. I have no idea what this little village is called, but it was like something out of a movie. We past several of these on the 6 hour bus trip across the country. Spain has some spectacular scenery and quaint villages that almost seem trapped in time. Layered the original image twice, adjusted contrast and tone slightly. Added a texture layer from www.deviantart.com free use stock. Layered the texture several times over, adjusting the constrast, saturation and lightness on each to vary the colour and tone. • Sometimes, you just have to let go of your past….. Missing I step off the train / I’m walkin’ down your street again / And past your door / But you don’t live there anymore / It’s years since you’ve been there / And now you’ve disappeared somewhere / Like outer space / You’ve found some better place And I miss you / (Like the deserts miss the rain) / And I miss you / Oh / (Like the deserts miss the rain) Could you be dead? / You always were two steps ahead / Of ev’ryone / We’d walk behind while you would run / I look up at your house / And I can almost hear you shout, down to me / Where I always used to be And I miss you / (Like the deserts miss the rain) / And I miss you / (Like the deserts miss the rain) Back on the train / I ask why did I come again / Can I confess? / I’ve been hangin’ ‘round your old address / And the years have proved / To offer nothin’ since you moved / You’re long gone / But I can’t move on And I miss you / Oh-oh (Like the deserts miss the rain) / And I miss you, yeah / (Like the deserts miss the rain) And I miss you I step off the train / I’m walkin’ down your street again / Past your door / I guess you don’t live there anymore / It’s years since you’ve been there / And now you’ve disappeared somewhere / Like outer space / You’ve found some better place And I miss you / (Like the deserts miss the rain) / And I miss you, yeah / (Like the deserts miss the rain) / And I miss you, and I miss you / (Like the deserts miss the rain) / And I miss you, yeah / (Like the deserts miss the rain) Nothing But The Girl
