Located at the historic Northwest Company and Museum in Grand Portage, Minnesota. There are tepee like structures, buildings and fur pelts hanging on a structure made out of sticks. It is a grey overcast day. There are dark clouds in the sky. Part of the museum collection at the Grand Portage National Monument.

This lyric based on growing up in a white farmhouse shows a little Dylan Thomas influence – “Fern Hill” is a favorite of mine. “Breathe in this air and never exhale” is a reference to those moments when the nostalgic beauty of a former time seizes your diaphragm. .

The Little River peacefully flowing thru Townsend, Tennessee. This has been altered in PS and some noise added to give it a vintage effect.

The clouds were starting to roll in. A storm was coming and i new i did not have much time. The light through the trees was warm and cast beautiful, long shadows across the steps. I was drawn into the scene. I set up my tripod and mounted my Olympus E-410. I new i wouldn’t capture everything with just one exposure. I took five, one stop apart from each other. Here is the result after processing with Photomatix.

This is an old barn not to far from where we live in Rescue, California. / I love the feeling of old style. People raising their chickens and watching horses out in the field… It’s sort of like where I grew up except I was raised more in the foothills of Yuba County. / This barn scene reminds me a little of simple home life (inspite of the construction going on) – the trees, houses spread out, weeds that need to be mowed, animals running around, horses in the field, barbed wire fences, gates that need to be mended, farm animals running freely,. and just the overall simplicity of country living. If someone has such talent to remove the construction material and the orange cones, please let me know. I’d love to savor this photo w/o such distractions and lack those skills. Many thanks to Charles for his assistance in removing the construction materials from this photo :) / / /
