Driving along this almost deserted highway we spotted this Love heart, somewhere between Uluru and Kings Canyon. An amazing piece of work, literally in the middle of nowhere. Hence the title, Love is all around…even in the middle of nowhere….. La Rue Obscure is the oldest street in the old town of Villefranche sur Mer on the French Riviera, between Nice and Monaco. It was built on virgin soil at the beginning of the 13th century. La Rue Obscure formed the basis of the rest of the town’s construction on the slopes rising from this coastal lane. It gave inhabitants of the town certain refuge against possible attacks. The ship captains who were forced by storms to anchor in the bay, could make necessary repairs in safety. La Rue Obscure also welcomed precious merchandise, such as wine, in its cellars.

My apologies for having no originality in flower choice but as you can see, I love my plain old dandelions! Anyway, in this image there are 3 stages of flower from the same plant, the bud, the flower and the post-flower fairy which to me are like 3 generations. I chose the layers and treatment to reflect all 3 generations by being aged yet still bright and not faded. / Have sold 1 x laminated print.

Took this a couple of weeks ago of my little girl at the beach and realised it’s potential this morning when I started to play with the colour, light and layers so of course I though that I would share!

I was coming home yesterday from an appointment downtown, / and happened to look over and see this place. It was completely / abandoned, along with garages, a barn and cars. Didn’t go in, (yet..heh) but I got a few good shots from the front. I added the flood..(to go with the title.) / / CS3/Corel/handheld/Samsung/HDR / I can’t even begin to list all of the things I did to this. / One filter conversion to the next applying and painting certain areas with the saturation brush, then repeating the process + / overlays & more fine tuning! This one is some what experimental.. Wasn’t sure where I was heading with it but it does represent one of the simplest plants we know.. Wheat….It’s so simple and has been a staple food, well, forever! This image represents it’s timeless quality.

This photo was taken in 2007 at Karnak temple (Egypt. Africa). The Karnak temple complex, universally known only as Karnak, describes a vast conglomeration of ruined temples, chapels, pylons and other buildings. It is located near Luxor in Egypt. This was ancient Egyptian Ipet-isut (“The Most Selected of Places”), the main place of worship of the Theban Triad with Amun as its head, in the monumental city of Thebes. The complex retrieves its current name from the nearby and partly surrounding modern village of el-Karnak, some 2.5km north of Luxor. / The complex is a vast open-air museum and the largest ancient religious site in the world. It is probably the second most visited historical site in Egypt, second only to the Giza Pyramids near Cairo. It consists of four main parts (precincts) of which only one is accessible for tourists and the general public. This is the Precinct of Amun-Re, and this it is also the main part of the complex and by far the largest part. The term Karnak is often understood as being the Precinct of Amun-Re only, as this is the only part most visitors normally see. The three other parts, the Precinct of Montu, the Precinct of Mut and the Temple of Amenhotep IV (dismantled), are closed to the public. There also are a few smaller temples and sanctuaries located outside the enclosing walls of the four main parts, as well as several avenues of human and ram-headed sphinxes connecting the Precinct of Mut, the Precinct of Amon-Re, and Luxor Temple. / The key difference between Karnak and most of the other temples and sites in Egypt is the length of time over which it was developed and used. Construction work began in the 16th century BC. Approximately thirty pharaohs contributed to the buildings, enabling it to reach a size, complexity, and diversity not seen elsewhere. Few of the individual features of Karnak are unique, but the size and number of features are overwhelming. Best on Full Size Wandering around my cousin’s farm in Davidsonville, Maryland, I fell in love with so many images. This was taken from the inside of an old tobacco barn which we calculate to be well over a hundred years old. This image is a compilation of two shots, both my own. The barn image, RAW, taken on my Manfrotto tripod, was shot on a disappointingly gray and overcast October 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300. Shutter 1/500, aperture 5/11.0, exp 0.00, iso 1600. Sky image, a hand held jpeg, was taken August 29, 2009 with the Nikon D300, shutter 1/640, aperture f/13, exp -.67, iso 400. Lens was 18-200mm vr Nikon in both cases. After the image was combined, I created an hdr in Photomatix by duplicating the jpeg to evals of +1 and -2 in Photoshop. Lots of Photoshop tweaking including addition of 2 textures.
