Mariachi music adds another layer of the exotic to the Venetian evening sky. I took this photograph during a wedding- with St. Mark’s as the background and decided to manipulate the original colour into yellowas a means to express the joy that permeated the wedding.

“Quietly lying by her barn, this pretty ewe made me stop my bicycle ride to pay her a visit. In a placid cool afternoon, she greeted me with a sweet glance and a calm disposition. Her face was beautiful and her eyes melted my heart. Surrounding a sea of amber and golden hues, her long white eyelashes framed surprisingly bright eyes. / / Taking close-ups on her adorable face, a rainbow of colours and patterns unveiled: the iris wore fine lines defining a gradient of rich earth colours. This stove is located in an abandoned house in the ghost town of Guadalupe, New Mexico, on the edge of the Cabezon Wilderness Area, approximately 30 miles off New Mexico Highway 550, between San Ysidro and Cuba, NM. The house is a true adobe and the roof is largely intact. Based on items within the structure (some furniture, a lot of foodstuffs) it appears that it may be a way station and temporary use area for the ranchers who run cattle on the adjacent property. Guadalupe Mesa is not far from here. Shot with a Pentax K20D, 1/100 @ F5.0, ISO 800, 21mm. Converted to B&W with Adobe Photoshop CS3 and to infrared with Paint Shop Pro XII.
