I was saddened to hear that Oink, who features in this artwork, had been subject to vicious attacks from thugs. They had been throwing bricks at him and putting washing up liquid in the 15 year old’s water trough. After hearing about the threat to Oink’s safety, David Larkin kindly donated and set up a CCTV sytem in Oink’s field. Other well-wishers are making donations to Oinks fund, which will raise money towards providing further security for Oink, such as a new fence. Read the full story, here Oink’s fund is now closed The tranquil beast in this photo manipulation is a Water Buffalo. I think he’s the only one in the UK, and I stumbled across him while out walking my dog in some local fields. His name is Oink! He got stranded in his field during the floods a few months ago. Luckily, he found his way to safety and became quite the celebrity in the animal world! This was edited in a similar way to my other work, Lord of the Water. Please click on this link for details. Please see my other work Arctic Beast also featuring Oink.
Photo of a pig’s nose
I haven’t felt terribly motivated recently, not even for my art and photography. When I’ve forced my creativity in the past, it’s usually left me frustrated and disappointed with the end resut so I thought I’d give myself a few days and see how I felt. I was a bit concious about leaving things too long, so this evening I managed to come up with this Oink Art. This gentle giant always puts a smile on my face, hope he does you, too. The two buffalos in this work are both Oink by the way, in different poses :-) Oink seascapes sunrise and sunset birds animals insects flowers blue orange view all Many thanks, Jen :-) Photography and editing by Jennifer Woodward © 2008

Oink is a buffalo who is 15 years old. He lives in Derbyshire about 4 miles from me and he’s a beautiful boy! Sadly, some thugs have been cruel to him, adding washing up liquid to his water, putting mustard on his food, throwing bricks at him, whipping him with fishing rods and setting fire to his hay! A huge thank you to G. R. Fisher for his assistance with this image! My images do not belong in the public domain. Two piglets taken today at pennywell farm devon, they are just 3 days old.
Well, if you’ve got uppers and lowers, and the most aggressive get first pick, would YOU pick an upper or a lower “bunk boob”? Seems that the lowers have the advantages of allowing you to lay down and eat and doesn’t gravity pull all the extra swallows down to lower ‘food stations’? Then again, the advantages of being in an upper boob are the ability to stand on lower boobers while proving your dominance and more air while eating. I think I’d go with an upper myself: more boobs available, less waiting. Hmm, I guess the photograph solves the question then: 5 of 8 piglets prefer to stand over someone to eat so the top bunk boob wins by two nipples. I wonder what happens if she lays on her RIGHT side. Is the top bunk position still on the top or to piglets prefer the same boob no matter where it is? As soon as mama rolls over, I’ll tabulate the numbers by nipples since telling the tiny bacon babies apart is still somewhat problematic…
How about a pig & a wink?
A travelling salesman came upon a farmer sitting on his porch, next to the farmer was a pig with only one leg. The salesman was about to give a sales pitch when his curiosity got the better of him. / / “Excuse me sir, but why does your pig only have one leg?” asked the salesman. / “Well sonny, I’ll tell ya. One day I was ploughing in my back field when my tractor overturned, pinning me underneath. I was loosing blood and thought I would die when that pig came running. He dug and rooted around with his nose until he got me out and dragged me back to the house. Saved my life that pig did.” / / “Wow, that’s really amazing,” said the salesman, “but I still don’t know why the pig only has one leg.” / / “Well I’ll tell ya,” said the farmer. “One night me and me wife were asleep at about 3am when a fire broke out in the kitchen. Well that pig broke down the door, came into our bedroom, woke us up and got us out before the fire could get us, damn saved our lives that pig did!” / / “Well that’s really great but why does he only have one leg?” / / “Well sonny, when you get a pig that smart you don’t want to eat him all at once!” / ......................................................................................... A portrait of Jesus Christ with bubble-like clouds and bubbly scallops at the end of one of the background graphics. I chose to depict Jesus in this graphic manner without fleshtones in order to overthrow the stereotypical Jesus that is widely familiar to the public therefore taking a step toward making HIS image more inclusive to people of all cultural backgrounds. I do admit that HIS facial structure and wavy hair excludes the characteristics of many cultures.
I’m kinda serious here…
