oil on canvas / 121×90 cm / 2007 original for sale It’s the moments when the world falls away, and all that is left is our own consciousness, the sound of our breaths rattling in our chests… All that is left is our own perception of ourselves, uncoloured, unrecognisable, unchangeable. / It’s the moment when we can just close our eyes and just. Breathe. Inspired by Philip Guston’s “Zone” paintings.

Aryclic painting with mixed media, gold and bronze outliners, the original paintings (this one, the magic leaf, what is emerging?, fusion leaf, can you see the face expression? paintings) all have a certain different gleam at every different angle of the light, this was cleverly created from the use of metallic pens, and silk painting gutta outliners that are pearlised, see through and pearly, metallic sequins that were carefully placed at some angles of the paintings.
Oil on canvas, / Created during a time of questioning, / of self discovery, and a time of change….This painting is framed and for sale… / Splashes of gold higlighting flicks of red violet, over a green/blue background, again I worked from my heart, not thinking as this painting evolved, it was only when I took it to the framer he commented on the depth in this work….I don’t analiys my art, I paint it and leave that up to others…to me art strikes different emotions within different people…..I have a friend who I used to paint with who I discovered today is now on Red Bubble, and her interpretation of this painting was very interesting….lol Many many layers of glazing were used to create the finished piece…I hope you enjoy….

This is an oil painting I did some years ago to illustrate the Norse Myth of the three Norns. They are past, present and future. The Crone is the past and is therefore looking away to what has been. The present is the Mother and she is looking straight at you as is the now. The future is the maiden who’s eyes are covered by her hair and cannot be seen. / They guard the tree of knowledge

My depiction of the legendary Badak Api or “Fire Rhino.” Thus sayeth Wikipedia: / “There are legends about rhinoceros stamping out fire in Malaysia, India, and Burma. The mythical rhinoceros has a special name in Malay, badak api, where badak means rhinoceros and api means fire. The animal would come when a fire is lit in the forest and stamp it out.” In this artwork I portrayed the Badak Api as a wise-looking red beast, whose horn sheds a glowing light as he patrols the forests looking for fires to stamp out. My drawing is based off of the Black Rhino, a critically endangered species of Rhino from Africa. Original artwork is 11×14 on Canson paper and is a mixed media piece featuring oil pastels, marker, and gold paint pen. View more of my artwork at www.lynnetteshelley.com
Oil Painting on canvas on board .I painted this [ super magical place] along with several others after I came back from a driving trip to the Centre 7 years ago , I mostly did small watercolour sketches. and a few small;; acrylics on the spot. I did a lot of large one when i came home but they have been stored away until recently. / I was very ill, and also going through a personal trauma [and drama] as well as the loss of my lifestyle and income and could only mange to function for 3 hours a day , so I guess chucking paint around as I call it helped to heal. /
