This is an original acrylic painting. / Painted on gallery wrapped canvas and is 16”x 20” in over all size unframed. I spray all of my paintings with a final protective professional varnish. This in one of the paintings from my “Native American Woman Series”. Part of my childhood was spent growing up near the Rosebud Reservation north of Valentine, Nebraska. As a child I became captivated with the colors, the dress, the celebrations and the dignity of the people. Thank you for viewing my art. / View susan’sgallery / View susan’szazzle

Barack Obama – Change for America, for the World, for All of Us – The Audacity of Hope On November 4, 2008, Barack Obama defeated John McCain and became the first African American to be elected President of the United States. In his victory speech, delivered before a crowd of hundreds of thousands of his supporters in Grant Park in Chicago, Illonois, Obama proclaimed that “change has come to America.” Born in Hawaii, Obama will be the first U.S. President born outside the contiguous United States. He also will be fifth youngest President at the date of accession and the second since Lincoln whose primary political base is Illinois. This portrait illustrates and epitomizes the audacity of hope. President Obama was sworn in as the 44th President of the United States of America on January 20, 2009. Selected information courtesy of Wikipedia. Impressionist, painterly / two boys doing what they do best in the rain. Digital painting is an emerging art form in which traditional painting techniques such as watercolor, oils, etc. are applied using digital tools by means of a computer, a digitizing tablet and stylus, and software. Digital painting differs from other forms of digital art, particularly computer-generated art, in that it does not involve the computer rendering from a model. The artist uses painting techniques to create the digital painting directly on the computer. / I create the painting, directly on my PC, by using a Wacom tablet, a stylus pen and ArtRage painting software. The Wacom tablet can be compared to a canvas or watercolor paper surface. The stylus pen is my paintbrush.

I painted this group portrait some time back, and greatly enjoyed depicting the richness of colour, texture and light – hopefully also capturing the spirit of these wonderful people, that they enjoy within their culture. / They are sitting in a yurt, listening attentively to a European translator describing the differences between our culture and their own.
