Explanatory and offensive, all in one. / 20/09/08 – a newer and more aggressive version, rendered in Take No Prisoners again. I rather like its aggressively scribbly style. Perhaps because I’m something of an aggressive scribbler myself when the spirit takes hold of me.

DIANA STOKES MUM Best viewed large. / For information on the DIANA STOKES MUM and others, / go to:KINGS’ MUMS This flower is a beautiful classic Mum called “Diana Stokes.” According to Kings Mums, a leading expert on Mums and their varieties, this offspring is rare, exotic and unusual. This variety actually blooms in the Spring to late Summer, although most mums bloom later in the Fall of the year. “Diana Stokes” is an added attraction to any flower garden, and is a real beauty in floral arrangements. Circus Baby is the latest addition to the carnival clan, I have no idea who he belongs to although he appears to be part duck. Circus Baby was created with an old doll head, toy vintage metal top body and vintage wood soda bottle legs and duckfeet. If you pull up the top handle his head slowly spins all the way down. He’s looking to leave the circus and come live at your house. Circus Baby measures 16 1/2” tall and 8 1/4” wide, he’s named, signed, dated and number 94 in the series of 1000 Pieces. Thanks! my original sculptures are available here http://artsy.etsy.com See him in video action here… http://www.flickr.com/photos/artofcatbishop/3426799949/
A Canada Goose with 6 goslings on the Red River in Winnipeg MB Canada.
Featured in The Woman Photographer – June 20th, 2009 With its flaming red crest, swooping flight, maniacal call and resonant drumming habits, this large, deep-forest dweller is a most impressive and unforgettable bird. It’s no surprise that the Pileated Woodpecker once inspired the creation of the famous cartoon character. Using it’s powerful, dagger-shaped bill and stubborn determination, the Pileated Woodpecker chisels out distinctive oval-shaped cavitiies in its unending search for ants and grubs. With all the pecking it does on a daily basis, it is no surprise that its bill becomes shorter as the bird ages. A pair of breeding Pileated Woodpeckers require more than 40 ha of mature forest to settle, so they are absent from many habitats. / Size: L 40-50 cm; W 68-76 cm / This nest is located on the hydro pole on the fairly busy road in Winnipeg, Canada. It’s really amazing that they settled right in the city and are raising to youngsters. In this shot there is only one of them peeking out from the nest. I watched them for over an hour, waiting for their mother to come and feed them. Once she did they stayed hidden in the nest. / Canon XSi, f/8, 1/250 sec, ISO-200, focal length-300mm.
Recently went on a trip to the Kruger National Park and there were so many mothers and their offspring. This one captured my heart though with the tender love and care shown from the mother Zebra for her baby. South Africa Featured In South Africa – A Rainbow Nation
