  • The Race Track in Death Valley. This is a place you have to experience in person.

  • this piece was inspired by an email asking for more or the fork off duo and the shirt by no frills art obsolete death by technology I did originally intend to have the little guy getting his revenge for being forked by devil girl but something in me left it this way. The is a lot of emotion in this piece as I’m sure many of you have felt like you have had you heart broken by a personified devil – I know I have (sigh and a tear) close up: / PS – Don’t worry, I will get round to making the revenge version called “fork you too” very soon :) Scotty The original T:

  • Showing off your Calendars - Part I
    by John Barratt

So you might have created a new calendar, and even ordered one, but how can you easily show someone else what your calendar look likes….

So you might have created a new calendar, and even ordered one, but how can you easily show someone else what your calendar look likes. You may have seen James post where he is peddling his wares, but you might have also wondered how he did it. For those with a bit of a technical bent, and know how to wield the text formatting used here, here are some pointers that will help get you going to create something like this, which is my ‘Snow’ calendar : We are also looking at being able to provide custom pdf previews of your individual calendars that look like this one for my Snow Gum calendar which you could them email around, or just linked directly to. - To start, this assumes you have a calendar already created, and in mybubble. / / - Go to your calendar via mybubble > calendars > edit > buy/preview. - You will see a preview of the cover page there. You need to view that image on it’s own, and copy it’s url. Different browsers have different ways of doing it, firefox it is right click view image or via ‘copy image location’, safari it is right click view in new window/tab, an IE is via properties I think. Anyway, assuming you can find that, then you can add that cover image to a journal entry, or in the description of other works. - An example of the url is : / http://images-0.redbubble.com/img/calendars/page:0/product:calendar/view:preview/389217-1-snow.jpg - This is can then be shown as an image by putting the url between exclaimation marks like this : !http://images-0.redbubble.com/img/calendars/page:0/product:calendar/view:preview/389217-1-snow.jpg! - From here you can reference all of your other pages by just changing the bit of the URL that says ‘page:0’, this can be ‘page:1’, ‘page:2’ etc up to ‘page:12’. A total of 13 different pages including 0 for the cover page. - If you want to arrange these side by side you can use the vertical bars to create a table on your page. Code like : | !http://YOUR_IMAGE_URL! | !http://YOUR_IMAGE_URL! | / | !http://YOUR_IMAGE_URL! | !http://YOUR_IMAGE_URL! | - For a journal entry I wouldn’t recommend more than two wide. In a nutshell, that’s about it! One thing to note is that if you edit your calendar, then you will need to update the image url, as one part of it (the last number) will change after each edit.

  • BEST VIEWED LARGER Berrys Bay is located on the Northern shore of Sydney Harbour . The harbour has many bays and tributaries. Berrys Bay /Balls Head Reserve can be reached by train from the city, you alight at Waverton Railway Station. The former BP Berry’s Bay bulk fuel storage and distribution terminal is located on the cliffs and foreshore area of Balls Head/Waverton Peninsula approximately 1.6 km northwest of the Sydney CBD. The site was operated by BP Australia as a fuel storage and distribution facility from the early 1920s. BP’s operations ceased in 1993 and the tanks were demolished in the mid 1990s. Premier Bob Carr announced in 1997 that this site, together with the Coal Loader and Caltex Sites on the other side of the peninsula would be preserved as Public Open Space It now has been returned to the public, as part of Sydney Harbour National Park, as you can see it is a magical site with wonderful panoramic views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge , Sydney Opera House (you can see under the bridge) the Sydney Skyline. Thank god governments make some good decisions returning open spaces to the people not the Developers. And yes England did send convicts to Australia for punishment Equipment used : Nikon D300, Nikon 18-200mm lens, no filters and processed using Photomatix My continuing journey into HDR continues ! • Or The man who had a creative block all week and got rid of it on Friday night. / I was supposed to do something about breakups for my friend’s new album. / This oughta sort that. I tried as best I could to recreate those crappy plastic chairs we had in school, because they’re vile. / I was going for a Space Invaders idea first of all but hadn’t thought of what to do for the Invader family. I wanted to show the erosion of someone. This concept blossomed along the way. Copyright © 2008 Simon Deevy. • Mdina, the old Capital City of Malta. Dubbed the Silent City. Time is nearly 0550 hours on a Summer Sunday morning. The Sun has not yet reached all of the Alleys and side streets. No sound is heard except the occasional rustling of the leaves in the trees behind me. Not a person in sight. All Alleys seem deserted except for a couple of stray cats still asleep in doorways, huddled close together for safety and comfort. Suddenly the sounds of a closing front door and light footsteps reveal the presence of someone in the Alley to my right. Who could this be? Cautiously I gathered enough courage to look down the Alley…....

  • Well, I’m back from my trip to the farm …. back to civilization ..ie..the internet. I took lots of photos – way too many.. Here is one I took at a stop over in Sydney. This is a fountain at Olympic Park and naturally the first photo I post has to be infrared. PS..Can’t wait to check out all the work everyone posted while I was away =-)

  • I created the balloon from a picture I took of a plaque on a building in London, the teacup belongs to my wife (who is the woman in this) and I took a picture of it on our kitchen table. The rest of the stuff in this are my textures and designs applied to a scan of paper that was changed to blue in elements. The clouds are preset shapes in elements and the dress and dog are royaly-free cliparts from a couple old books I have that I scanned. I think this would make a lovely card (hint, hint!) / / The title is from the name of a Tori Amos song from her “American Doll Posse” album. It’s September! Which is pretty exciting by itself, and we’ve taken that excitement one step further by celebrating the recent launch of our marvellous 2010 RedBubble Calendars with a quite brilliant offer. We’ve knocked 15% off all calendars, that’s 365 days for the price of 310. Where else can you find such value? Nowhere that’s where. And when you buy 10 or more, we’ll give you free shipping. But you only have one week to enjoy this offer, (ends 10am AEST, convert to your time.) so if you haven’t already chosen 12 images and selected what will be brightening your kitchen next April, then I’d suggest you get your skates on and make yourself a fancy new calendar. Of course if you’re really stretched for time, you can just buy somebody else’s. And over here, someone called ‘Jo’, has written all about how useful they are as gifts or even at making you some money, with which to buy more calendars I expect. And when they look this lovely, it’s just not surprising. / / / 2009 is so last year. Regards, Mr Baxter – Deputy of Date and Time, But Mainly Date —-—-—-- Follow my every exciting move on Twitter. / And add me to your watchlist.
