  • 2nd Image… One of my Best Friends is Pregnant and so I was Shocked about that sort of news… Just isn’t something you expect a Friend to say to you out of the blue… I have always respected Women and the Gift they possess for Creation of Life… So its been on my Mind for the last few days and due to lack of inspiration the past week or so for new art work I decided to Alter a few of my older Works that would work well with Creation of Life and a Womans Form, Body…. and to try and celebrate that in my own way… I know the idea behind the images are not new and a Popular example of something like My images is that of “2001: A Space Odyssey” but that Image has always been in my mind ever since I first saw the Movie god knows how long ago… so is about time and I think is the right time since my Friends news that I make a few of my own… Will try and think about a new image from scratch with this idea in mind… This is the 2nd Image I have made on this idea…

  • Oil Pastel and Acrylic Ophelia dreamed she was on a journey to a foreign land. In that land, she encountered an exotic purple flower with 3 petals. Though strange in appearance,it had the most calming and relaxing scent Ophelia has ever known. Ophelia was most reluctant to leave this flower and its’ scent when she knew her dream odyssey had to come to an end soon. However, all endings are simply preludes to new beginnings :D / / View other “Dream Odyssey” creations in my Zazzle store: / / /

  • The remains of the beach defenses on the shore at Whitley Bay.

  • Driving along the Bay of Juan de Fuca last week, there were at least 9 eagles along the trees at eye level over looking the cliffs of this fantastic view of Victoria island (Canada)... a long wandering marked usually by many changes of fortune is the only way that I can explain the odyssey that we recently completed. In traditions throughout Egypt, western Asia, India and the Far East, the link between the Eagle and sky gods is ancient and consistent. An eagle with human arms was a Syrian emblem of Sun worship. The eagle is often a storm and thunder symbol as well as a solar one, suggesting both light and fertilizing power. Garuda, the eagle-human steed of the Vedic god Vishnu, is shown battling with the serpents of evil. Alternatively, eagle and snake represent air and earth, although the lion sometimes replaces the snake, as in alchemy, which used a crowned eagle and lion to represent the the dualism of volatile and fixed principles. / In Native American mythology the eagle has celestial and solar symbolism. The duality of sky and earth is represented in Central America by the eagle and jaguar. Among nomads, particularly in northern Asia, the eagle was a shamanic father symbol, its feathers used in initiation and ascension rites. / I am grateful, I am grateful, I am grateful ;)

  • Legend had it that an ancient giant goldfish once ate some magic bread crumbs and grew so big and so powerful that it was able to leap from its’ pond into the skies, travelling at unbelievably high speed across the skies. However to retain its’ magical powers, this legendary goldfish had to fulfill a good deed every night. The giant goldfish had the ability to detect sincere longings of those who desire to go on a sky odyssey. Somewhere a thousand miles away, the giant goldfish heard the desperate cry of a little owl named Ophelia whose dream was to go on a sky odyssey to visit new lands and oceans. Thanks to the benevolent giant goldfish, Ophelia’s wish had been granted! You can view and purchase my other “The Skyfish Legend” creations at my Zazzle Gallery:

  • Inspired by the book, movie and music of / 2001: A Space Odyssey Also if you’ve got the time (approx. 25 min.) / Pink Floyd 2001: A Floyd Odyssey Full Ending Scene / Echoes by Pink Floyd synced to the ending of the movie!! / Outstanding!! / / Made with Apophysis 2.08_3D hack /

  • 12×18 pastel on Wallis sanded paper Another Klimt inspired mythological piece. This is of the great witch/goddess of the Odyssey, Circe. In this I imagined the moment Odysseus comes and accuses Circe of turning his men into swine. Even with pigs at her feet I envision her being coy “How dare you accuse me of such a thing, here would you like a drink…” / I always found it interesting that Odysseus stayed for three years with Circe even though he was in such a hurry to get back home to his wife. Maybe Circe was correct in trying to change him into a pig!
